ILA is a UK based registered charity dedicated to promoting human rights in Iran and committed to advancing justice and bringing about positive change.
Maryam Akbari Monfared, a political prisoner, has been released after 17 years in prison—without even a single day of leave. Her 3 daughters grew up without their mother.
She comes from a family deeply affected by the mass political executions of the 1980s, during which four of her siblings were executed by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic.
Maryam was arrested in 2009 at her home.
Over the years, she was held in Evin Prison and repeatedly transferred to other facilities, including exile to Semnan Prison—far from her family—and detention in Qarchak Prison, known for its harsh conditions.
These transfers, along with severe restrictions on visits and phone calls, were widely seen as forms of sustained pressure.
Maryam Akbari Monfared’s release marks the end of a long and deeply unjust imprisonment—but her story remains a powerful testament to resilience, memory, and the ongoing struggle for justice.

As the world is distracted by a devastating war in Iran, Iran’s regime executed 10 political prisoners and protesters, from 30 March to 6 April.
They were sons. Students. Dreamers.
They were tortured. Denied fair trials. Executed in silence.
This is not justice. This is a systematic killing machine targeting those who dare to resist.
We cannot stay silent.

ILA supporters laid flowers today for seven souls who gave everything for basic freedoms and human rights.
They were silenced, but their voices echo louder than ever.
Abolhassan Montazer, Vahid Baniamerian, Pouya Ghobadi, Babak Alipour, Mohammad Taghavi, Akbar Daneshvarkar and Amir Hossein Hatami who was only 18 years old.
Iran will remember. The world must not forget.
We must stop executions in Iran.

International Women’s Day, we gathered to honour courage in all its forms — especially the brave women and girls who rose up in Iran.
Your voices crossed borders. Your strength moved us.
These moments are our reminder: solidarity is a force, and freedom is a shared fight.

Saleh turns 19 next month. He is a young athlete who won a medal at an international freestyle wrestling competition in Russia (2024). He is sentenced to death by the regime.
⚠️ He has only 19 days to appeal, but past cases show executions can happen quickly—sometimes within weeks of arrest.

Four children — Adib Ahmadinezhad (17), Armin Sharifian (17), Mehdi Haqju (17), and Mohammadhossein Khorshidvand (15) — have been arrested by Iranian authorities during recent protests. Their lives are in danger.

During Iran’s recent protests, doctors who treated wounded demonstrators were arrested instead of protected. Now, four medics face execution simply for providing medical care. More than 50,000 others have been arrested and are being held in the regime’s dungeons, where the risk of a prison massacre is real and imminent.
Silence helps the oppressor. We must be their voice and act now to prevent further atrocities in Iran’s prisons.

Dr. Masoud Ebadifard Azari and Dr. Parisa Porkar, a physician couple from Qazvin, have been detained by Iranian authorities simply for treating people injured during the protests. Their current condition and whereabouts remain unknown.
Dr. Ebadifard Azari was the head of Pasteur Hospital in Qazvin. Dr. Porkar is an ophthalmologist. Their “crime” was providing medical care — an ethical duty, not a political act.
In recent weeks, Iranian authorities have intensified their crackdown on healthcare workers, targeting doctors and nurses for saving lives.
⚠️ Treating the injured should never be criminalised.

He did what every doctor is sworn to do.
He saved lives.
Dr. Alireza Golchini, an Iranian physician and surgeon, treated wounded protesters — people bleeding, broken, and desperate for help.
For this act of humanity, he was arrested.
For this act of medical ethics, he has reportedly been sentenced to death.

Kimia Kamyab: Dear God, hello… Please help me stay on the right path. Don’t forget me—just be there for me like this, watch over me. Help me become what I want to be; help me become a useful person in this world. I don’t want to be insignificant or useless—please help me always think. I want to be okay, to stay with myself, and to take care of my inner self. Don’t let me drown in ignorance. Protect all the beautiful things, one by one. I am free.
They brought an end to her life.
But they failed to kill her voice, her truth, or her freedom.

CCTV footage from Iran shows security forces chasing protesters into a residential building.
A civilian risks his life to stop them. They smash the door, destroy the camera, and brutally assault those inside.
This is how the regime wages war on its own people.

📢 International Liberty Association welcomes today’s European Parliament resolution condemning the Iranian regime’s brutal repression of protesters.
This is a clear stand for accountability, justice, and solidarity with the people of Iran — especially women, youth, and political prisoners.
Words must now be followed by action.

I'm Zahra Bohlouli, 19, and I was killed by the Iranian regime's security forces in the recent protests.
To the free world: remembering Zahra is not enough. Silence is no longer neutrality — it is complicity.
We need justice and accountability.

A family was erased in a hail of bullets in Iran.
Bijan Mostafavi, a retired teacher, his wife Zahra Bani-Amerian, and their 19-year-old son Danial, a university student, were inside their car on Friday, 8th of January, in Karaj, when regime forces opened fire.
We need accountability.

Your lives were stolen, but your voices will never be silenced. We refuse to let your memory fade into silence or impunity.
Justice is not optional, it is a duty.
The United Nations must act now and immediately deploy an independent fact-finding mission to Iran.
The world is watching, and history will judge those who remain silent.
