That's why all the focus is back on kings landing for next ep. Distract us with cersei for the rest of the season and then BAM! End of the last episode theon cokes crawling out of his tomb and the night king lives on. The cycle is restored

I think that after the battle people will start burning the bodies of the dead. But sansa will protest and request to put theon in the crypts with the rest of the starks. Maybe that's why the show was pushing their relationship this season.

I think brans role as the three eyed raven is to continue the cycle of existence. So maybe he did have a role to play in the night kings downfall. But I also think that as three eyed raven he's got to keep the cycle going
