With Discord’s new age verification policy causing controversy, a lot of people are looking for alternatives, but many forget that @Steam had built in group and voice chat for years.

Steam voice chat is seriously underrated. It has persistent groups, text and voice channels, roles, quick setup, and no extra app needed since it is all inside the gaming platform. For small and mid sized communities, it is more than enough and for many people it can be a real alternative to Discord.
