@Barnabus73@StandswithGod Not necessarily. Everything was different then. Life spans were hundreds of years. Time for many kids. And they can't find the last person who called me Sue π
@Barnabus73@StandswithGod The days of Adam after he fathered Seth were 800 years; and he had other sons and daughters. Genesis 5:4 Daughters weren't often listed, nor was every single son. Too many to list sometimes.
@ScottRoberts He might have been knowledgeable in the Word but he was most definitely not humble. I bought his study bible and saw the watermark "M" on every page. π The height of hubris imo. Gave it away.
@BrysonGray@JoshuaBarzon If you can lose what Jesus died to pay in full He could have gone fishing on Good Friday. Scripture overwhelmingly confirms to us our salvation is guaranteed via the sealing of the Holy Spirit. We did nothing to earn it, we don't have the power to lose it.
@ProLifeisProGod Pray about this. I believe God puts us where He wants us. Everyone has spiritual gifts and He will use you accordingly. Say a church is lacking the gift(s) you have, this is where He may lead you. Always read their statement of faith to be sure they're aligned with Scripture ππ
@JamesAFurey Whatever that was, it makes no sense. But hey it's not my place to convince you of anything. God draws people, Christ saves them and the Holy Spirit indwells. You're obviously free to take or leave any of this. Have a good evening.
@JamesAFurey John 3:16 Romans 10:9-10 SO MANY more. Unsaved people won't understand deeper issues but God definitely uses His Word when He is drawing them to Him.
@JamesAFurey It is absolutely realistic. "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me" John 5:39 There are close to 200 verses in the NT that make it simple to understand sin and the need for salvation thru Christ.
@JamesAFurey Scripture tells us the Holy Spirit teaches us John 14:26, and we should be like the Bereans and search the scriptures re: what we hear Acts 17:11. We have Pastors & teachers but they also are always tested by Scripture.
@JamesAFurey There have always been conflicting interpretations within the Magisterium, e.g., Mary, tradition, justification. The RCC published a new Catechism of the Catholic Church to (again) try to bring back doctrinal unity re: authority of the pope, trinity and Eucharist. Not so reliable
@JamesAFurey the Holy Spirit is God...Ananias, why hasΒ Satan filled your heart to lieΒ to the Holy Spirit.....You have not lied to man butΒ ato God.β Acts 5:3-4 There are more but these show God in 3 Persons. The teaching is throughout Scripture.
@JamesAFurey There's God the Father ...For on him God the Father has set his seal. John 6:27. Jesus is God...For in him [Jesus] the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily. Col 2:9. (next post)
