The Facebook-a-zation of crypto. Is the cryptosphere looking more and more like the centralized internet that came in the wake of social media and data giants? What are the stakes and who are the players? #selfcustody#openinternet
@CryptoTaxFixer@JNGross As someone who would never consider leaving more than 1% of holdings outside of self-cutsody, I couldn't agree with you more about being realistic about how you can actually manage your funds. Everyone will have their own unique balance between security and utility.
@JNGross@CryptoTaxFixer I challenge you to provide an example of a crypto custodian that is worth risking 65 btc on given the history of custodial exchanges. Maybe old money types that carry prestige have bankers that will "hodl" for them, but institutions? It just doesn't make sense to me
Tomorrow's Device Layer examines a study of 39 browser wallets.
The surprising part?
"The study didn't find a crisis in cryptography.
It found a crisis in interpretation."
And that's a much bigger story than it sounds.
Question:

The encryption wasn't broken.
The blockchain wasn't hacked.

I'm increasingly convinced that's no longer the primary challenge.
The harder problem is helping users understand what they're approving.
Those are not the same thing.
“The hardware wallet market quietly changed. Users are no longer just comparing coins, screens, Bluetooth, or mobile apps. They’re comparing trust assumptions.” #SelfCustody#HardwareWallets#CryptoSecurity
Just rolled up to @ns and holy shit, this place is actually stacked with builders who actually build instead of just tweeting about building.
Real ones grinding, not just grifting.
Just finished building this project with @0xTrenchChef (who put in countless hours)
It's a peer-to-peer private streaming platform on @solana that allows you to charge by the minute for your time. Perfect for creators, consultants, coaches or anyone who charges for their time.
@PeterSchiff Couldn’t the same argument about wasted capital have been made about e-commerce after the dot bomb? It recovered and revolutionized. I have yet to see your representation of the efforts of skilled coders and entrepreneurs. They should just buy shovels and start digging instead?
