Quite a statement from Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press about Trump's crackdown on reporters:

So, TO BE FAIR to "Big Tony" Kern, whose employment history, financial history, and candidacy as a "conservative" would appear to be completely ridiculous, I needed to take a quick look at his Republican primary competition and sitting senator in LD27, Kevin P. Payne.

Some people give me shit for bringing up crimes (or significant financial problems) that occurred a considerable amount of time in the past, unlike Big Tony's financial problems which are current and ongoing, but here's the thing...THERE ISN'T ANYONE I WOULD LET INSIDE MY HOUSE OR AROUND MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING THAT HISTORY, so I'm not sure why it's not important information regarding someone responsible for running our state!? The man was 39 years old ffs!!!

On June 13, 1999, Mr. Payne was charged in Peoria Municipal Court with:

-One charge of Assault with Intent to Injure.

-Two counts of Threatening or Intimidating with Injury/Damage to Property

-Three counts of Endangerment

Mr. Payne was found guilty of Assault with Intent to Injure, and the remainder of the charges were dismissed. The specifics of the crimes and the sentence is not available, but rest assured, I will eventually find it!

I don't see any "redemption narrative" or acknowledgment of this crime in Mr. Payne's bios going back to his initial 2017 elections, so I will simply ask him to come clean on the details of what led to this assault conviction, and why it should be considered a non-issue today. While I do find a considerable number of Republican candidates with bankruptcies, assault convictions are fairly rare!

I will also say that while we probably disagree on many things and there is still a lot of maga derping in his feed, he doesn't derp about communists (yet?), and I don't believe he speaks in tongues.
