@QiaochuYuan Agreed. Although IMO it takes a good 3-4 days for the full reset. After that, you can start to see what you have been trying to distract yourself from seeing/feeling.
@thorstenball Wouldn’t need it if interfaces went back to this. Dark mode is like an argument built on a faulty premise. It’s a misdirection that exists because flat designed introduced us to such horrible blindingly white UIs.
@atmoio Kastrup does well at attacking materialism here and describing why it’s such a dominant metaphysics: https://t.co/NM5aLo28nU
Also speaks to your point on science.. and how it is actually metaphysically agnostic
@kanair The problem with simulated consciousness is that consciousness isn't being simulated. What's being simulated is a fraction of the externalized behavior that is only seen in conscious entities.
@BenJammins Don’t say that - they’ll think that what they need is an AI that makes things blurry for which we’ll need to tell them that they’re wrong. Again. Of course, they will never understand as long as they think that the magic is in any one thing in particular.
@kanair The trouble with this is that there isn’t an “inside” the simulation. When we build a simulation, it happens on the level of our perceptions. Everything happens on the outside.
@enarchxve There’s no agreed upon source of truth. Everyone thinks we ended up there for different reasons and we should have handled it differently 🤷♂️
creativity is bolstered by the tools you use to create and the interface and limits those tools possess. when you try to remove all those limits and hyper-optimize the process (genAI), you also start to remove all the defining characteristics of creativity
The @Mariners should, from time to time, replace the simulated hydro race with a player controlled one. Even better, flex a @NintendoAmerica collab and do a split screen Mario kart race live.
User interfaces prime these expectations by default. Flat design subverts this. I’ve always disagreed with the argument that affordances exist to transition users to flat design. The visual phenomenon work because they mirror what exists in nature.
