The only way to help Haiti is to pressure the U.S. into giving ADOS reparations then from there that would open the door for them to get their $ back from France.
America cannot call itself a melting pot and then turn its back on Haiti.
We are often told to stop talking about race, but when Black immigrants are treated with less compassion, less dignity, and less humanity, we have a responsibility to tell the truth. Haiti is not just a headline. Haiti is a nation of God’s people…..families, children, workers, dreamers, and believers.
This country was built by immigrants. Our strength has never come from excluding people; it has come from welcoming people, honoring humanity, and remembering that we are all God’s children.
Compassion should not depend on someone’s passport, accent, or skin color. We must do better.
The Confederates where slave owners and the West African Dahomey Tribe where slave traders I make no distinction between the two. Melanin is irrelevant I am looking at two slave trading cultures and people and I have zero love for either see how that works.

You guys see a population of black people who were able to create world famous culture, inventions, revolts, and their own institutions in one of the most racist countries in America and get upset if we don't give credit to Africans or Caribbeans 😭
Reconstruction lasted 12 years. It did not merely “end.” Black legislators were murdered and barbaric immigrants were unleashed on over 538 thriving Black American cities, towns, and communities. Jim Crow was quickly implemented in its place and lasted for 88 years.
Glaude & ADOS were on the same page once upon a time. He was right. We were right.
Establishment Democrats made him apologize profusely for ever suggesting that we use the ballot box to hold Democrats accountable.
Such a shame the time we lost waiting for slow people to catch up.
saying she is rejecting the notion that we all need to be lifted out of poverty bc she has *several* middle class friends is such crazzzzyyyy work!
like ...we really don't throw enough tomatoes at Angela Rye foreal. 🍅🍅🍅
“Who knew?”
Girl shut up. It’s *been* set up that way so that the executive branch doesn’t need to go to Congress & ask for money every time there’s a new lawsuit to settle.
Obama or Biden could’ve taken a small step & set a precedent for reparations by using that fund to pay the Tulsa Race Massacre survivors. They didn’t even need to necessarily go all the way. And Obama could’ve done it in his second term. Without Congress. Zero political consequences for him.
But every time we tried to advocate for redress, y’all told us we didn’t understand how government works.
But we do. Y’all don’t. And y’all lack both courage & political imagination.
The Justice Department suing Yale over a few dozen Black medical school students while China has half a million students at American universities is insane.
"When did we decide we were just going to vote blue and hope for the best. We did not get here that way."
Preach.
Black Americans as a group have remained stagnant for decades. Yet many of us seem to feel that Democrats don't owe us more than a call to vote for Democrats.
In 2019, a reporter told me the real test of a movement is whether it’s still standing five years later.
She said most movements fade. Leaders disappear, get absorbed into the system, lose focus, or simply burn out.
I think about all the names that have come and gone since then. All the voices that once dominated Black politics and/or lineage advocacy that you barely hear from anymore.
From where I stand now—watching the collapse of credibility across much of the Black political class—I’d say we’re doing pretty good.
But they keep telling us immigration doesn’t impact us @AttorneyCrump
At a point, we need to have an honest conversation about immigration & its impact on ADOS communities.
“These are our sisters & brothers!” is just a slogan. It doesn’t interrogate the issue or address our concerns.
And if Democrats want to register more ADOS voters & see higher turnout, they better start by addressing our legitimate concerns.
Just a reminder that when Sen McConnell denied Pres. Obama a SCOTUS pick, the response by Democrats wasn’t to court pack or take radical action. It was “welp”.
The Democratic Party can only be destroyed or overhauled. It can’t continue as it currently exists.
The writing’s been on the wall for awhile.
