@JasperSiepkes Packages now available in trunk!
We also now have https://t.co/Mbl0NW5G9u which will hopefully consolidate efforts to support OpenJDK on illumos going forwards.
Thanks to @jmclulow for setting that up, and @ptribble for maintaining the patchset in newer releases.
Currently importing 13k photos/videos into @photoprism_app which lives in a docker container, in a bhyve VM, in a zone. Storage is a zfs fs mounted into the zone via lofs, exposed in the VM as 9pfs. It's turtles all the way down! Fingers crossed!! 🐢 #illumos#bhyve
#illumos#arm Tomorrow our maintainer Toaster https://t.co/58ds7mgOcY will stream the 2nd part on how to prepare the devenv for those wanting to join this project. The sd card images will also be made available so that you can start playing with it on your Pi4 hardware.
Wonderful. #illumos on the RPi400, Hayashi has done a tremendous work! Now a console framebuffer for this thing and let‘s rock and roll 😅👌🏻 Folks try it! It is real fun.
So I have a Patreaon now to help gather some resources and traction for #illumos development. Tomorrow I am going to be on twitch around midday BRT at https://t.co/AizsPpwVmo and this time it should record aswell :) hope to see many people there!

A little DTrace, a little kmdb, a little assembly. Nothing like a little late night debug action to fix a bhyve issue. Might be interesting to others to see the raw debug brain dump in gist format vs the linked issue #illumos https://t.co/91v7GkNepj
Tested the Illumos aarch64 on the Asahi Linux now (M1) and I have updated the howto in order to build the patched qemu on it @Iggi76123640

A small step for gurus, a huge sacrifice for me 😅😂 Should be the first time that #illumos arm64 runs in qemu natively on #debian arm64 on an M2 MBP 😅 Now the fun starts😅 Thx to @astr0baby for the disk image and his support 🙏🏻
Need some help 🙏🏻 So if I want to cross compile illumos-gate for aarch64 I have to do it on #illumos based Oses? AFAIK there are no arm cross compilers on #openindiana or #tribblix, right? Or do I use an arm64 Linux build system to compile it? https://t.co/WtrlcMkKfP
Thrilled to announce I'll be joining the amazing folks at @MNXio in August, returning to working full-time on SmartOS/pkgsrc!
Triton (our open source data center) is already a brilliant product, and we're excited to pour renewed energy into making it even better. Come join us!
