@BlazeDillon Maps with geometry that makes sense. Nothing worse than getting stuck on random stuff, or not being able to get on top of things that you think you should be able to. Glitch and Exoplanet from TF2 do this well. Wallrunning focused designs and layouts are a must.
Female gamers: your menstrual cycle is effecting your cognitive performance, but not during the phase you might assume.
This study found while 55% of women felt mentally worse during menstruation, but their performance data showed no objective drop then.
Cognitive performance (reaction time and errors) actually dipped mid-luteal phase, when progesterone peaks and cortical excitability drops.
Here's what I recommend to my clients:
→ Drink excess water during your period -- blood is 80% water, you're actively bleeding, and dehydration nukes cognition...
→ Supplement with creatine + electrolytes -- these can help improve blood flow & reduce GI symptoms via their osmotic effects
→ Consider increasing stimulant usage during mid-luteal phase -- the strategy here is to elevate cortisol via CNS stimulation in an effort to offset the phase-related deficit.
Important note: This study was done over the course of one monthly cycle. As a result, I do believe there needs to be more longitudinal research conducted to better understand how hormone severity and individual variability impacts cognitive performance.
@HotCocoaHyena@Worzelit0@haiirothekid@LqdAim And what exactly are you gonna do to ‘earn’ your opinion? Or is it just me that has to do the work? You seem to misunderstand my comment but I suppose that’s not surprising.
