@tykjen@NiggerPeter@cardamomkiss —and the greed and gluttony that Odysseus sees towards the end of the movie directly parallels that after we see the trials he goes through
@tykjen@NiggerPeter@cardamomkiss its more a story about the consequences of hubris and ego. Nolan can tell the story about how Odysseus’ is selfish and traumatized but also show us the suitors getting slaughtered
The reason why the story begins with the suitors is to show how privileged they are in comparison
@unrealpathan@gothamkino it definitely has a certain flare to the performance (at least during the TCAP scenes) that chris doesnt have, its definitely going to be more about the story behind the show, which is more interesting imo,
rob also has more charisma than chris hansen so that might be a tell
@dingchilling this speech actually came with great positive feedback and pr, it was mostly a lot of marty supreme marketing which made him seem incredibly arrogant
@aderayo_xo1 not relevant to the story being told. If you want to see—read the Illiad or watch Troy. Troy is not as good but a couple people would say Illiad is better than the Odyssey
I will say theres a missed opportunity to not have Achillies as one of the undead men like in the original
