@m113enjoyer@LostMyHats Yes, it’s all over X right now. Denying the very doctrine that is in their manuals. “Yes, it’s preached, taught, it’s on our website, affirmed and taught by our apostles and prophets, and even distributed in our manuals but it’s not canon!! Prophets aren’t infallible!”
@Sola_Scriptora@joshnaa2gez Not to mention their mother God. Wiccans also believe that. God got pretty upset whenever the Israelites started worshipping a mother god or heavenly mother. I guess they completely ignore that.
@23wjohnston@PeacemakingSt But do you not know? Joseph was prophesied in Genesis in the translation he wrote and also in the Book of Mormon which he also wrote!
@PTSPentax@QohelethsWisdom@emuse1955 Just because we ask doesn’t negate our responsibility to test the spirits and hold fast to what is good or to beware of false prophets. Why is this important? Because we have an adversary. Jesus warns over and over as do the apostles. God will not contradict himself
@PTSPentax@QohelethsWisdom@emuse1955 Greta passage. And shortly after that verse, “Don’t be DECEIVED my brothers, every good and perfect GIFT is from above coming down from the Father of heavenly lights who does not change like a shadow. He chose to GIVE us birth through the WORD of truth..”
@PTSPentax@QohelethsWisdom@emuse1955 You don’t trust God if you explicitly reject his word and ignore His warnings against false prophets. Especially one who teaches the very lie of the serpent that got us expelled from the garden in the first place! A man who wrote his own prophecy into God’s holy scripture!
@PTSPentax@QohelethsWisdom@emuse1955 Because He already gave you His word along with countless warnings about false prophets and you refuse to listen. Jesus came to testify to what? The truth. When you have the truth you can protect yourself from deception using discernment and testing the spirits.
@hvworlton I do understand that you deny your own church’s founding prophet and the church authorities over many years. This is a good start. JS clearly was a false prophet writing his own prophecy of himself into Genesis. You are too intelligent to fall for this. Have a nice day.
@ThenIsaugh@Zacbunchanumbrs@emuse1955 Yes, and the church HAS claimed it as official doctrine repeatedly in the past. It has been taught by their prophets, apostles, inserted into manuals and even claimed by the church publication. Joseph Smith claimed divine authority in the very breath he preached the doctrine.
@hvworlton Ah yes. Not canon, but yet still taught in LDS as doctrine. Taught by apostles, prophets, leaders and in manuals over many years. But we can deny it if we need to when convenient because it’s not canon. This is shady sleight of hand. I pray you will see the massive 🚩
@hvworlton “One of Joseph’s best-recorded sermons”
“The KF sermon was the most direct, public explanation of these DOCTRINES, but it was not the first time they had been introduced.”
“Since 1844, the church has continued to teach many of the core doctrines that presented in KF discourse”
@hvworlton Oh come on Heidi, you’re talking in circles. I’m sure you are an intelligent person but you are playing extremely loose with logic here. We have exactly what he said and it is clear as day and then echoed by presidents and apostles after him!
