Good news that Iceland has ratified the @ILO Work in Fishing Convention and the Safe & Healthy Working Environment Convention.

This sends a strong message: fishers deserve safe, fair & decent working and living conditions, and safe & healthy work is a fundamental right for all.

We discussed the centrality of @ILO's normative mandate, from standard-setting and ratification, to implementation and supervision.

The need to protect workers' rights and strengthen social partner capacity was also emphasized.

📊Child labour is declining in Uganda but the challenge is far from over.

Between 2012 and 2021, child labour rates fell across all age groups, with the most significant progress among children aged 14–17. This shows that targeted action, access to education, and community engagement can make a real difference.

Yet, far too many children are still working instead of learning, playing, and building their futures.
