@MartinSLewis My Severn Trent half yearly bill arrived in the post last week. I pay in cash at my Post Office. The amount was the same, but the bar code has disappeared from the bill. I took the previous bill to the Post Office and they scanned that. I was able to pay cash as usual.

@thecoastguy I inadvertently went into a bus lane, very briefly, did a u turn and came straight out. I found it easier to pay the £40 rather than get tangled up in a lengthy battle with them. £155 is a bit steep so decide if it's worth your time and anxiety to fight them. Your choice.

I know it is Martins job to get the best deals for everyone, but I cannot take part in his polls, because there is no option for those who are not sheep. No contactless, no phone payments, I use cash all the time.

@Leighlines @sainsburys I get most of my shopping at Aldi. Refuse the self serve. They are quick to open another checkout if needed. I will wait for that. And I only pay with cash.

@MartinSLewis I loved being a lorry driver for most of the 32 years on the road. Then the EU came in and spoilt it all. New legislation said we had to do further training, even though we had been doing the job for many years. The freedom of the road was lost. Now they just want trained chimps

@HMSScamander @TheFreds My utility bill arrives in the post quarterly. I have just paid it at the Post Office. No smart meter. If more people did that, took responsibility for their own lives, then the digital scam would collapse.

@MartinSLewis @itvMLshow My mother taught me the basics of personal finance. If you haven't enough money in your purse you can't have it. Save up for things you want to buy. Her rules have stayed with me for the whole of my life. Everything I own I have paid for. No debt. Thank you mother.

I have just been to the US Embassy to meet the Deputy Secretary of Energy for the United States Government, who had flown in from the States.
