@HabitatColorado We would love to have a small home in the backyard for our parents, but I'm not allowed to build one today.
I can't wait until we have the opportunity!
@RideRTD has announced yesterday morning that District A Director Kate Williams has resigned. She has done incredible work on the board and her leaving is a huge loss.
Mayor Johnston will appoint her replacement.
The seat should be filled by someone who depends on RTD.
@FullLaneFemme Given these are instant rebates (at time of purchase), like Denver's, what do you see as the material difference between vouchers and rebates?
I may not understand the definitions here.
@AndyKnny Most I know that voted against it said no BECAUSE of the tax cut - even amongst the less politically engaged.
And those who said yes did so because they want tabor weakened and schools better funded, and held noses over the tax cut.
It didn't have a clear constituency.
@burley_zack CDL aside: An RTD representative noted some years ago that a key reason for their continued drug testing is simply - insurers.
Insurers won't cover drivers who fail testing for a federally prohibited drug. No concern for drivers' other recreational activities, as you said.
@BillDA@dave_stickland Healthtech is my area of expertise, so have too many thoughts to share on that for one tweet, but my opinion in short:
The reasons behind the big rise in ed and that for health differ, but both ARE a combo of cost disease + gov't-caused bloat + regulatory capture.
@meganschrader@pinklaura I don't believe it is the sticker price that matters - what matters is whether people can pay to move in.
Now, builders are facing high rates to build (slowing supply gains).
But their buyers get below-market rates, regardless of whether the Fed keeps market rates high.
@meganschrader@pinklaura Developers ARE actually ceding on price - on the back-end.
They maintain high sticker prices, but offer loan rate buydowns to create a functionally lower price for the buyers (the monthly payment, which is what buyers largely care about).

Lennar, a homebuilder ranked No. 119 on the Fortune 500, is presently promoting a "fixed [mortgage] rate of 4.25%" in Colorado.

YIMBY Denver's @AbeKaul:
My immigrant parents achieved the American Dream. But for young people, it's become an American delusion. We must solve Colorado's devastating housing shortage. We need to make housing abundant, affordable and equitable for all.

@natemarshallNIL@Adam_Estroff He has done his research, as have others. In fact, Euro machines are both smaller AND more multi-functional than Denver's.
And yes, there are manufacturers available for procurement in the US that will build more appropriately sized fire trucks.

@ericmbudd Indeed - like any organization, not all of their opinions/takes/strategies are good (see: speed cameras), but on net, they have a positive impact IMO.
@nbminor@ColoradoDOT An aside - upsetting to see officials using West Colfax BRT as a reason for anything.
WC was quietly eliminated from Colfax BRT plans a couple of years ago (without any announcement to the neighborhood - neighbors still surprised to hear this).
It's not even in the 2050 plan...
