Hearing from @TAIWANmoda Minister @audreyt about how Taiwan is protecting itself from cyberattacks and digital disinformation while promoting freedom and democracy.
Vital work from which all of us in the free world can learn.
Visited the Taiwan Legislative Yuan and also met Vice President Lai, Premier Chen and Foreign Minister Wu.
The democracy of Taiwan is on the frontier of freedom and I will do all I can to support you.
Your future is our future. 🇬🇧🇹🇼
Hello, I’m Dr.Shih, Shu Hua. I am a dentist, a full mouth reconstruction specialist, and a social activist in Taiwan. I participated in both social movements in Taiwan and Hong Kong, which are the "Sunflower Movement" and "Umbrella Movement" respectively. As a result, I was blacklisted by the CCP.
During the time of the Sunflower Movement, we had a very pro-China president, Ma (2008-2016). Despite all the peaceful protests in the Congress, the Ma Government ignored the voices of the people and tried to suppress them. That was why many students had to stand out more aggressively for 24 days, which eventually stopped Ma from signing the "Cross-Strait Service Trade Agreement." To put it differently, the students were saving our own country.
After that, more and more people became aware of the threats from China. After the ruling party of Taiwan changed, people from Taiwan are forbidden to enter the United Nations buildings and the World Health Assembly, like we are not part of this world. This is all because these organizations accepted the view from China, considering Taiwan a renegade province.
NO.
The truth is: We are Taiwan, we are Taiwanese, and this is an independent country. We have our own passport, our own currency, and our own story to tell. Please don’t believe a bullying country's propaganda; they are pointing missiles at Taiwan, threatening to invade us, and blocking us in all international organizations, just like what Russia did to Ukraine.
Don't leave us fighting alone. Please support us, and let Taiwan be a part of the World Health Organizations, be a part of the United Nations, and be a part of the world. Let us help the world, because Taiwan can help. Stand with Taiwan, stand for justice. Thank you.
