This isn’t meant to criticize BC at all. I, as a staunch leftist, adore Vancouver and I will take any excuse to visit + I would love to call it home someday. I also happen to adore Calgary and Edmonton and I wish people wouldn’t write them off as much!

Biggest pet peeve is people who genuinely suggest that British Columbia is an ultraprogressive socialist utopia whereas Alberta is Texas Jr.

There is way more nuance involved than what I can fit or even want to write in a Twitter thread but BC is poised to turn conservative for the first time in decades in two weeks and the CPBC is more socially right-wing than the UCP (Alberta Conservatives) by most metrics
