@CamelinaSativa@NU_ChemE This is a great project that cares about sustainability and renewable energy! The methanol is recycled and the glycerol is sold as a by-product; how are the diglycerides and glyceride waste streams going to be disposed of? Will the by-products be burned or re-used?
@AsteridBio @NU_ChemE We chose doxorubicin for its far-reaching applications and well-classified mechanism of action. Also, doxorubicin has shown great efficacy when paired with nanoparticles (including lignin) for drug delivery, thus it is an ideal candidate!

@AsteridBio @NU_ChemE Rather than buy more expensive larger equipment, we implemented a semi-batch three mixer set up to deliver our annual yield within an eight-hour workday, saving on utilities and time!
@MilkyWayChemE@NU_ChemE Hi Milky Way Engineering, happy to see another sustainable company! It seems like your company has a great, novel product. I was wondering what channels of distribution your company plans on utilizing and if you think your product will have differences in taste to competitors?
@AsteridBio @cheme_nu Hi @AsteridBio! Incredibly informative poster! I think there is real promise for the use of plant cells to produce proteins on the larger scale. Have you given any consideration in your design as to whether these cells are generally adherent or cultured in suspension?
@always_sunny19@NU_ChemE It's so nice to see another company dedicated to sustainable science! π Will the resultant sunscreen, utilizing gadusol, be considered broad-spectrum and how does its efficacy compare to other synthetic ingredients? Did you know that lignin is a UV-protectant?βοΈ Check us out!
