BUY A BOOK FOR TRANS YOUTH!
I don't often talk about how I came out as trans when I was young—mostly because it wasn't good. That's why I'm passionate about getting my joyful trans YA romcom to teens in similar spots, especially with book bans and recent laws.

@Rachelrcreates@kidlitart Rachel, thank you for saying that! I'm so excited, I hope my words help you! It can be so hard to sort of sit and analyze what you're gut it saying, I think this week's #kidlitart questions really helped me for that, too.
@lisachowart@kidlitart Have you read Where's Halmoni? I loved that book and it's kind of what made me think I could do picture books with a graphic novel style. Also Every Little Kindness! #kidlitart
@Anne_Appert @kidlitart haha I'm getting better at not prefacing "it's terrible" whenever I show people my art in the real world, but I guess I still need to practice not doing that in internet land #kidlitart
@ScoutUnderhill@tms_creates @KellyAMangan @kidlitart It's like when you're using a camera and you focus on one thing, the rest is blurred. When you do vignettes, you are zoomed in on one thing, and the rest gets to fade away. Readers know they're seeing a drawing, they don't need all the details of a scene every time. #kidlitart
@ScoutUnderhill@kidlitart SO important!! With so many more images, it's so much more complicated getting that pacing right and capturing the beats of the story well! #kidlitart
