🚨 A severe issue is currently happening with Codex.

The Codex app on Mac is overloading, causing permanent damage to SSDs and overall device lifespan.

Multiple users have already reported that their SSDs completely fried, forcing them to get repairs.

This issue was raised weeks ago, and OpenAI claimed they fixed it.
Yet, a massive number of users are still reporting the exact same problem right now.

If you’re buying the base or mid variant of any car, don’t waste your money trying to make it look like the top variant. Make it drive like a better car instead.

agree with this, one shot efficiency increased after a deeper planning on all feature implementations. I do plan and audit it using another model with full context of the project and then find the gaps and caveats, fix them in plan and final build.

My coding SOP with LLMs is built around executable specifications:

PRD → End-to-End Tests → Work backwards to identify the required architecture changes → TDD Plan → Rubber-duck debugging of the TDD plan → Code generation, augmented with idiomatic code patterns, API documentation, dependency research, and implementation references.

Each artifact progressively reduces ambiguity and narrows the solution space. By the time code is generated, the model has all the context, constraints, and examples needed to converge on the expected implementation instead of inventing one.

It’s a great comfort to realise that, no matter who you are, the marginal impact of your work on the future is close to zero.

Most outcomes are inevitable in the long run - if you don’t do it, someone else will.

This was true for relativity theories, and is certainly true for most of the everyday work we all do.

When I created Claude Code as a side project back in September 2024, I had no idea it would grow to be what it is today. It is humbling to see how Claude Code has become a core dev tool for so many engineers, how enthusiastic the community is, and how people are using it for all sorts of things from coding, to devops, to research, to non-technical use cases. This technology is alien and magical, and it makes it so much easier for people to build and create. Increasingly, code is no longer the bottleneck.

A year ago, Claude struggled to generate bash commands without escaping issues. It worked for seconds or minutes at a time. We saw early signs that it may become broadly useful for coding one day.

Fast forward to today. In the last thirty days, I landed 259 PRs -- 497 commits, 40k lines added, 38k lines removed. Every single line was written by Claude Code + Opus 4.5. Claude consistently runs for minutes, hours, and days at a time (using Stop hooks). Software engineering is changing, and we are entering a new period in coding history. And we're still just getting started..
