From the time they were first available I’ve always owned a RED camera- I’m not a cinematographer, but just in the way some people desire a beautiful watch or car, I always felt a need to own a RED.

Today was a great reminder of WHY. 🔴

The Latin recoding artist EXTi and I were hanging out while he was painting our office mural, and he said “man I’d love to make a music video for my new song here…” - we then started talking about the team we’d need to shoot it, the gear, the lighting, the cost, etc. We started coming up with reasons “Why we wouldn’t be able to do it for a while.”

Mid way into the convo I cut him off- I said “Get ready to perform right now, I have my camera in the other room. We’re going to do it right now.” He said “Really?” And before he could finish he sentence I was rolling and we were blasting the song from the Bluetooth speaker next to us.

No tripods, no additional lights, now crew, just hitting record with instant inspiration.

I edited the entire video in 2 hours. We were both blown away by the final product.

His conclusion: “This is magic! This is the final video for the song! We did it!”

Moral of the story: JUST CREATE. + you don’t even need a RED Camera, your smart phone is more than enough to make amazing things.

***note: this is a very small snippet, he has a big album release planned and this is the song demo, not final. I probably am not allowed to post this.
