@RickyTBGuy5997 They are a mixed race. Indoaryan + tibetoburman + kradai ( ahom ). Their culture, grammar, lexicon everything evolved very differently because of their mixed nature. And that's why Odia which diverged earlier sounds more similar to Bengali than Assamese.
