So the bank @TheOfficialSBI is marking me unauthorised absence!! But on what authority?
When the resignation was submitted, medical documents provided and repeated communication made via email and WhatsApp about inability to join?
I may be absent in your records, but the burden of “unauthorised” should only lie with you.
Let me make one thing absolutely clear: do not consider me an employee of your bank anymore. Under no circumstances will I be rejoining.
Now, answer my questions..clearly and without evasion:
When I applied for a transfer on spouse grounds, why was it neither approved nor rejected on time? After 5 months of continuous follow-up, I received a casual WhatsApp message stating that the request was not submitted through the portal. Is that an official response? Is this the standard of communication your institution follows?
When I applied under extreme compassionate grounds, what happened to that application? There was no portal-related condition for such a request, so why was I never informed about its approval or rejection?

#LPGUpdate | गैस कनेक्शन नियमों में बदलाव
Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas

Hey @TheOfficialSBI
For the past month, I’ve been receiving countless DMs from employees. I can’t ignore this anymore.
This letter has already been mailed to your Chairman, and I’m attaching the public version here.
📌 Context: On one hand, some of your employees openly post reels on Instagram with ID cards, selling courses and nothing happens.
But on the other hand, when others do the same, you issue them DPD.
Is this justice?
Either allow everyone to use ID cards & social media, or stop everyone.
Why are higher officials being partial? Every employee deserves the same chance. Otherwise, you’re breaking their morale completely.
(Part 1)
The Harsh Reality of Banking – An Honest Introduction
There’s a wide gap between how banking is perceived from the outside and what it’s really like for those of us inside.
In reality, many of us spend our days acting less like bankers and more like data entry operators, insurance sales agents, recovery officers, and call centre staff. The dignity and purpose of the profession often get buried under relentless targets and administrative grind.
We’re humiliated for missing unrealistic sales quotas, denied basic leave, and constantly working under the shadow of disciplinary action or sudden transfers.
And the hardest pill to swallow?
Everyone already knows—your immediate boss, their boss, top management, the MD, the CEO, the Finance Minister, even the RBI. These issues are no secret.
The system isn’t broken by accident—it works exactly as designed, benefiting those in power: boardrooms, administrative offices, influential unions. There’s no incentive for them to change it, because it works for them, even if it crushes us.
So, what do we do?
We can’t change the system—but we can change how we navigate it.
1. Shift in Perspective
Before tackling the day-to-day, we need a mindset reset:
Accept the reality – The system isn’t built for you, and it won’t change in your favour. Accepting this will save you frustration.
Don’t internalise blame – If resources are missing and targets are impossible, it’s not your personal failure.
Detach self-worth from targets – You are not your sales numbers. Arbitrary metrics don’t define your worth.
Remember your value – Surviving and functioning in this environment means you’re already resourceful and resilient.
Choose your battles wisely – Let go of fights that only drain you without any outcome.
Build a safety net – Network with peers, seniors, and anyone who can guide you in a crisis.
Find your tribe – Surround yourself with colleagues who understand, so you can vent, share, laugh, and stay human. Sometimes, a 15-minute tea over a call on an off day works wonders.
2. Tackle the Everyday
Banking often puts us in impossible situations—like being assigned a role you’ve never done before, yet being legally responsible for every decision you make.
When You Have No Prior Experience:
1. Find the Right Person – Contact anyone who has handled that seat or task before. If you don’t know them directly, ask your network.
2. Accept the Harsh Truth – Training is rare, and we rely heavily on the goodwill of others to teach us the ropes.
3. Look for the Silver Lining – Good mentors exist. When you find one, be that person for someone else.
4. If All Else Fails –
Take medical leave rather than making a risky call without clarity.
Document everything: instructions, denials, decisions. This can protect you later.
3. Keep Yourself Updated
Use resources like IIBF digests, financial newspapers, and industry magazines.
When you vent with peers, try shifting some conversations towards learning and problem-solving.
Talk to people at different levels—other branches, PTS, guards, even customers—to understand the local realities better.
Final Word
Nothing about your workplace will magically change tomorrow. But you can change how you approach it—starting with one small thing that’s possible in your current situation.
In today’s banking world, your real strength is your network, your resilience, and your ability to protect yourself while continuing to grow.
