@celeryseller Yeah, you're probably right. I'm just worried about the unknowable right now. Wtf is going to happen next year? How much do they actually care about stripping our rights away? How vulnerable will I be if there's tangible documentation of me being a transgender person?
Question for the class: Do I change my legal name and gender marker now before it's too late? Or do I keep my deadname and male designation so as not to be put on a potential list?
I'm not giving into despair. I'm going to survive these next four years and make sure those around me do the same. I'm going to thrive in spite of a world that's indifferent to the suffering it'll put us through. I'll tell myself I'm strong and I'll fucking prove it
Ok a public trial for David Shor and Anita Dunn who built the entire campaign around winning anti Trump republicans, a constituency that consists of 48 people, half of whom work for the NYT and MSNBC
the country didn’t “move far right”, trump got less votes than he did in 2020. democrats just completely fumbled their coalition and alienated entire bases of voters
takeaways from this:
1. it’s going to be fine. organize
2. the right is going to demolish america as a functioning government institution
3. the democratic party leadership needs to be systematically destroyed for the good of the future
4. we will all be okay
@ErisIncognito (sorry, meant to reply earlier but adhd and life got in the way) Thanks! It's been a hectic year, but it feels like things are finally stabilizing for me, and I think I'm finally getting my shit together. We should catch up sometime! Hope you've been well 💜
I started working at a job I actually enjoy, I'm starting to accept myself more, I'm meeting new people again, I'm an active bisexual now, and I'm generally less depressed & anxious lately. I'm so glad I'm starting to finally feel good about myself again
@GhostlySable The same thing happened to me when I had my first HRT consult. The nurse did an STI screening and immediately commented "Dang girl, that gag reflex!"
