Frightening just how fast the temperature of oceans & lakes is rising. And not just the temperature rise catastrophic for wildlife, algae is a problem in many lakes, fish die as they can no longer breathe. But of course, climate change doesn’t exist, does it? 😢
@FredMosby_@vitt2tsnoc If footy isn’t her thing, she could do something useful and pull up her son‘s pants instead. A sneak preview of the Calvins is fine, wearing them like potty training failed is not.
@BylineTimes I just wish the government would finally see sense and initiate the longish re-joining process. Or at least another referendum, preferably one that isn‘t interfered with by Russia.
@AnnMile71721158 They are clever enough to spot that large zoo as a nesting place though, lots of huge trees, quite protected (well apart from all the predators) and plenty of leftover fish in the various ponds plus the Aasee Lake nearby. As long as no chicks land in the lion outdoor enclosure
The now almost fully grown juvenile storks, beaks changing from grey to red. They forage for food independently now, parents nearby. Many parents start to leave for their southern winter quarters in August, with the juveniles following in mixed adult-juvenile flocks a while later
@finsburyfeline@Alamy_Editorial Very naturally elegant birds. I was surprised when a photog who follows their migration routes told me how robust they are, they don’t mind colder climates at all, just need enough food and for water bodies not to freeze over.
Shots of the wild pink #flamingos at Zwillbrocker Venn, a wetlands nature reserve on the German-Dutch border. Adults are all ringed to track their annual migration to the Venn, where they bring up their chicks. There were 60+ adults in spring. Large pic set @Alamy_Editorial
Very urgent, please retweet URGENT FOSTER HOMES NEEDED - DUE TO BE PTS‼️‼️‼️💔💔💔 #UK
PostedSunday 12 July.
Can anyone help foster one of these beautiful pound girls who's time has run out and WILL be PTS.
Wren is a small Husky cross who is a young, friendly girl who isn't reactive to the other dogs. She doesn't know many commands and doesn't really listen to you.
Wren is not tested with cats or children.
We also have Mali the 4 year old Husky who has been used to have multiple litters and now funds herself without a home. Mali is untested with other dogs and cats, cannot live with children due to jealousy.
If you can PLEASE help offer one of these girls a placement with @SaintsSledDogs please get in touch below👇👇👇👇👇👇

@implausibleblog@Alamy_Editorial Hence the different physical appearance, some have pink legs, others yellow or orange, some much taller and fluffier, others feature bright orange. Lovely to watch.
@implausibleblog@Alamy_Editorial Yes, 3 different sub species migrated there, mostly European Greater Flamingos, but some are Chilean and American Flamingos, likely captive escapee birds a few generations ago, with their chicks then joining this group. They spend their winters in coastal Holland, not the South.
@AnnMile71721158 😀 At Muenster Zoo, which sees an influx of 40+ wild pairs nesting in the tall trees there each spring/summer, there are always on or two naive first time couples who build their nests on top of the large bird of prey aviary. That never ends well, but they learn
@Lomquiche@Alamy_Editorial The info there said 3 different types of flamingos are there this year. Most are European Greater Flamingos but there are also Chilean Flamingos and American Flamingos. The latter two are thought to be descendants of escaped captive birds. Apparently quite robust and adaptable
