As an atheist, I have to admit that secular humanism will never match the psychological grip of religious morality… When you believe the entire universe was literally designed around a moral code, the stakes are cosmic... Breaking a rule doesn’t just give you a bad conscience; it threatens you with eternal damnation... Honestly, some people just need that absolute rock to cling to for survival, and faith provides it… I just can’t help but wonder why I’m able to navigate life, choose my own path, and act decently without needing any of those terrifying cosmic threats hanging over my head…
