I saw a post today that said “WHEN YOU FINALLY LEARN YOUR PLACE IN PEOPLES LIVES, YOUR FEELINGS WON’T GET HURT”.... I swear that’s the truth and one of the most important life lessons you’ll learn. Whether it’s friends, family or whoever.
Modern dating will have you learning someone’s childhood, favorite food, future plans and deepest trauma by Tuesday… then by Friday you’re basically strangers again. And nobody even broke up because apparently you were never together. What the hell are we doing?
For a RELATIONSHIP to really work, you gotta understand this: You and your partner are TWO different people, with two different pasts, trying to build ONE future. You didn't grow up the same, you won't always think the same, and that's okay. What matters is HOW you handle it. Communicate without turning everything into an argument. Listen even when you're frustrated. Stop keeping score and start choosing growth. Because every disagreement shouldn't create distance. It should build understanding
You can be someone's favorite distraction, their comfort zone, and their emotional safety net, yet still not be the person they're willing to commit to. They will heal on your time, build on your energy, and then choose someone else to give their future to.
as the months get colder, i hope you find peace in the weight of your body. i hope you find love in the slowness of life, i hope you find a place to rest your heart when it’s weary. i hope you find spaces that hold you how stems hold flowers. i hope u find a home within yourself.
Adulting has humbled me a lot. I finally understand why so many adults stop posting on social media or even deactivate their accounts. Life feels so much more peaceful when everything isn’t on display. 🥹🤎
nobody likes you when you're depressed.
plain and simple. we can talk all day about mental health and how important it is, but the moment you are depressed, people start to distance themselves. they see you as negative, a burden and someone too heavy to handle.
