'YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO THE SENATE'
"You've done this twice... trivializing your duty as a legislator," pahayag ng kongresista.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has been informed of a complaint against senators and officials who allegedly helped Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa evade arrest, according to a civil society group.

Sen Sotto's reply to allegation that a former marine gave delivered money to him:"OMG noon pa yan sinabi ko i will not dignify such because i was not a senator from 2022 to 2025. The name they mentioned na EA ko daw na tumanggap ay is Mark. Mark died in 2015 , ano ba! @news5ph
I have already responded to these blatant lies and filed libel/cyberlibel complaint before the NBI and perjury complaint before the DOJ.
There are a lot of inconsistencies and absurd claims. No collaboration of fact.
Why aren’t they talking about Loren Legarda and Mark Villar who they named in their original affidavit?
Well, in all intents and purposes — this is just “maritesan” inside the Senate.
GATCHALIAN GETS HOUSE RECOGNITION
House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III congratulated acting Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian on assuming his new post, expressing confidence in his leadership.
“At a time when our nation looks to its institutions for stability and leadership, a fully functioning Senate is essential to advancing legislation, exercising oversight, and upholding democratic governance,” Dy said in a statement on June 3.
“We wish Acting Senate President Gatchalian every success as he leads the chamber in addressing the challenges and opportunities before our country,” he added.

What a stealth move.
A quorum made possible with Sen Chiz Escudero’s surprise appearance.
What happens now to SP Alan Cayetano’s leadership with these new committee chairmanships?
At least today, the senate can have some work done before ‘sine die’.
Senators Kiko Pangilinan, Risa Hontiveros and Bam Aquino were elected again as the committee chairman of Agriculture, Health, and Basic Education!!!
JUSKO BUTI PUMASOK KA CHIZ HAYOPCCA PERO AYOKO PA RIN SAYO 😭✋
SENATE BACK TO WORK FOR THE FILIPINO PEOPLE
We express our deep appreciation and commend the courageous decision of Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero to take the floor today and confront the issues facing the institution. His action sent a clear message: that his commitment to the country, to the Senate, and to the Constitution would prevail above all else.
His presence enabled the Senate to proceed with the discussion of matters that are too important to be left unresolved and too consequential to be set aside.
On the issue of quorum, this is not an uncharted matter. The Supreme Court, in Avelino v. Cuenco, recognized the principle that a quorum of 12 is determined based on the number of members who are legally able to discharge the functions of the Senate.
There is likewise an institutional precedent. In 2015, the Senate recognized a quorum of 12 senators who were within its jurisdiction. The Senate continued to perform its constitutional duties because the work of government could not be placed on hold.
At a time when the nation faces pressing challenges, the Filipino people expect their Senate to work, deliberate, and fulfill its constitutional mandate. The institution cannot remain stalled by disagreements or uncertainty. Our duty is clear: to legislate, provide oversight, and serve the public interest.
The Filipino people deserve a Senate that shows up, does its job, and places public service above politics.
It is time for the Senate to move forward and get back to work for the Filipino people.
