I have noted with increasing concern the heightened pronouncements on Nigeria by President Donald Trump. This follows his designation of Nigeria as a โcountry of particular concern.โ
It is important to emphasise that our country is a sovereign nation whose people face different threats from outlaws across the country. The insecurity we face does not distinguish based on religious, ethnic, or political beliefs.
The United States should assist the Nigerian authorities with better cutting-edge technology to tackle these problems, rather than posing a threat that could further polarise our country.
The Nigerian government should also consider appointing special envoys from its distinguished diplomats to engage the American government. Additionally, it is necessary to appoint permanent ambassadors to represent Nigeriaโs interests on the international stage.
To my fellow countrymen, this is an important moment where we should emphasise unity of belonging over division.
God bless Nigeria. - RMK
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving education in Kano, I distributed 73,800 three-seater desks to schools across the 44 local government areas of the state, today.
This is part of our determined effort to implement components of the State of Emergency on Education and improve the education sector, as well as to instill confidence and hope in the hearts of our students.
The Kano State Government under our leadership is deeply committed to ensuring that every child in Kano has the opportunity to learn in a conducive atmosphere that allows them to focus, dream and grow, as promised during the 2023 election campaign.
Using the opportunity, I called on all community stakeholders to join hands in ensuring that the desks are well-maintained and that the renovated schools are treated as centers of excellence.
I also expressed appreciation for the efforts of over 11,000 young carpenters, welders and other artisans who played a significant role in the school transformation project.
Our administration remains committed to the continued provision of essential equipments and facilities necessary for the smooth teaching and learning process in all public schools across the state. - AKY
In line with our target to have our students resume school in a conducive environment, and the broader goal of closing the out of school children gap in Kano, I paid a supervisory visit to the site of the fabrication of 50,000 classroom desks and other school furniture.
This first phase of the initiative is part of our commitment to uplift the standard of our schools so that they meet the basic standards of habitability.
This also affords us the opportunity to engage thousands of our youthful population in the productive and fulfilling enterprise of producing these essential pieces of furniture.
I commend the workers on site for the impressive pace of work, especially considering the timeframe of delivery.
We shall continue to strive towards ensuring quality and affordable education for all in Kano. - AKY
The day Abba won his election, there was looting. The day he was sworn in there was looting. Anyday he demolished properties, his boys looted. He okayed yday's protests & even invited them to govt house. He breeded these looters & he should find a way to deal with it. Solobiyo!
