AN OPEN LETTER TO FORMER PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN
Your Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR,
I write this letter with deep respect for your contributions to Nigeria's democracy and your remarkable service to our nation as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Since leaving office in 2015, you have earned widespread admiration both within Nigeria and across the international community. Your decision to peacefully concede defeat after the 2015 presidential election remains one of the most celebrated acts of statesmanship in Africa's democratic history. That singular action elevated your image from that of a former president to a global symbol of democracy, peace, and political maturity.
It is against this background that many Nigerians are concerned about reports suggesting that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) may seek to present you as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
Your Excellency, while every Nigerian has the constitutional right to seek public office, I respectfully urge you to reject any attempt to draft you into the 2027 presidential race.
The political realities of today are significantly different from those of the past. The 2027 election is already shaping up to be a highly competitive contest. Emerging opposition forces and established political structures have begun mobilizing across the country, while the incumbent administration retains the advantages that come with being in government.
Many political observers believe that entering such a contest at this stage could expose your hard-earned legacy to unnecessary political battles and public criticism. A former president of your stature should be remembered for strengthening democracy, promoting peace, and serving as a respected elder statesman—not for being drawn into political calculations that may not align with your long-term legacy.
Furthermore, there is a growing concern among many Nigerians that some political actors may seek to use your respected name and reputation for their own strategic interests. Such individuals may benefit from your participation regardless of the outcome, while the burden of any political fallout would largely fall upon you.
There are several reasons why preserving your current position as a national and international statesman may be the wiser path:
*Your Legacy Is Already Secure: Your peaceful transfer of power in 2015 remains one of Nigeria's greatest democratic milestones.
*Global Recognition: You are widely respected across Africa and beyond for your commitment to peace, democracy, and conflict resolution.
*Elder Statesman Role: Nigeria needs experienced leaders who can unite, advise, and guide future generations without necessarily seeking elective office.
*Political Risks: Every election cycle comes with intense criticism, division, and attacks that could unnecessarily affect your public image.
*National Unity: Your voice carries greater moral authority when you stand above partisan politics and serve as a neutral advocate for national progress.
Your Excellency, history has already written your name among Nigeria's most significant democratic leaders. There is wisdom in knowing when to enter the political arena and equal wisdom in knowing when to remain above it.
I therefore respectfully appeal to you to decline any presidential ticket that may be offered and continue serving Nigeria and Africa in the distinguished role you currently occupy as a respected statesman, peace ambassador, and defender of democratic values.
May God continue to bless and guide you.
Yours faithfully,
Comrade Abdullahi Ghali Basaf

KWANKWASO REJECTED the Vice Presidential Offer with Obi in 2023
By: Comrade Basaf
Many people have continued to ask why Senator did not agree to deputise during the 2023 presidential election.
The reality is that, at that time, many political observers never expected Obi to secure the massive number of votes he eventually garnered across the country. Before the election, many underestimated his political strength and nationwide acceptance. It was only after the election that people realised the Obidient Movement had become a major political force in Nigeria.
Secondly, there were strong concerns that many Northern voters would not support Obi at that period because of the intense religious and regional sentiments dominating the political atmosphere. The Muslim-Muslim ticket was heavily promoted, and many Northerners were persuaded to believe it would bring better representation and solutions to their challenges. This created a difficult environment for any alternative alliance to gain wider acceptance in the North at the time.
Another reason was political structure and strategy. Kwankwaso already had a strong grassroots political movement the Kwankwasiyya Movement especially across Northern Nigeria. Many of his supporters believed that joining another ticket without clear political balance and mutual understanding could weaken the identity and vision of the movement.
In addition, negotiations between political parties and leaders are often based on mutual agreements, trust, political calculations, and long-term strategy. At that moment, both camps may not have reached a consensus that would satisfy their supporters and political interests.
Today, however, the political landscape has changed significantly. Many Nigerians, especially in the North, now better understand the realities of governance and are beginning to look beyond religious and ethnic politics. The experiences of recent years have made citizens more interested in competence, accountability, and good leadership.
With the combination of the powerful Kwankwasiyya Movement and the vibrant Obidient Movement, Nigeria will Insha Allah, be OK come 2027.

In 2019, it was claimed that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was working for Muhammadu Buhari, yet Buhari’s government, alongside Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Nasir El-Rufai, allegedly joined forces to take away the governorship victory of Abba Kabir Yusuf because of Kwankwaso.
In 2023, it was again claimed that Kwankwaso was working for Bola Tinubu. However, after the governorship election, there was an attempt by the government to remove the Kano State Governor from office, but by the grace of Allah, the mandate was upheld. The whole world knew that it was also because of Kwankwaso.
Now once again, this same propaganda is being circulated, claiming that Kwankwaso joined the NDC because he is working for Tinubu. We call on the public to disregard this propaganda, as it has no foundation.
Logically speaking, if Kwankwaso truly wanted to work for Tinubu, what would stop him from joining the APC directly, especially when no one could prevent him from doing so?
Would Kwankwaso work for those who allegedly wronged him?

WE SUPPORT KWANKWASO OVER ATIKU UNAPOLOGETICALLY BECAUSE HE IS TESTED AND TRUSTED.
By Comrade Abdullahi Ghali Basaf
Sun 10th May, 2026
We are proudly and unwaveringly supporting Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso because he is tested, trusted, and proven. We have seen the positive impact he made in the lives of ordinary people when he had the opportunity to serve. Unlike many politicians who have little or nothing to show for their years in office, Kwankwaso left behind visible achievements and lasting legacies.
We strongly believe in his vision, leadership, and mission for the people. We also have confidence in his integrity and commitment to human development. That is why, wherever Kwankwaso goes, we are ready to follow.
One of the greatest legacies of the Kwankwasiyya administration is its massive investment in education through scholarship programs that transformed the lives of thousands of students across Nigeria and beyond. Over 4,000 students benefited from these scholarships, with more than 300 becoming PhD holders today.
