#WATCH | Delhi: On the alleged vandalism at the TMC office, TMC MP Mahua Moitra says, "The CCTV footage from the elevator at 4:30 am shows about 20 to 25 BJP workers arrived. They first snatched the mobile phones from the security guards and threatened to smash their heads with long metal rods. The intruders then proceeded to the sixth and seventh floors and entered the offices...you can see them arriving with their faces covered by masks. Once inside, they wreaked havoc...we made countless calls to the police...our people had actually managed to catch six of them and hand them over to the police. Now the police claim they have arrested six people—though we don't know who they are—and are acting in a hyper-active manner, sealing off premises and detaining us. This is a joint mission between the police and the BJP..."
What are these horrifying visuals coming out of a Delhi police station?
Women journalists being beaten and thrashed for asking questions about the Delhi CM.
And when the police allegedly discovered that one of these journalists was Muslim, the assault intensified.
Is this a democracy - or a police state?
Utterly reprehensible.
Goons entered our Camac Street office in the heart of Kolkata and went on a rampage - looting TVs, laptops and other equipment, vandalising the premises and terrorising our people.
And the biggest question remains: HOW DID THIS HAPPEN UNDER THE WATCH OF KOLKATA POLICE?
How can armed miscreants enter, loot and destroy property for hours in the heart of the city with the police nowhere to be seen?
Shri Arka Kumar Nag strongly condemned this brazen attack, exposing how the @BJP4Bengal government is using the police and administration to intimidate and silence the Opposition.
This is not law and order. This is STATE-ENABLED HOOLIGANISM.
Democracy is under attack in #Bengal.
BJP’s “Good Governance”. Double Engine style.
Vandalism. Violence. Lawlessness.
Both my offices( Amtala and Camac street) have been vandalised and ransacked in the last one month.
The POLICE and BJP goons seem to fear NEITHER THE LAW NOR THE JUDICIARY.
This is no longer mere lawlessness. This is open defiance of the rule of law.
If this does not shake the conscience of the judiciary, what will?
Shame on the cowardly CM @SuvenduWB , @AmitShah , @ombirlakota and @narendramodi . This is how the Opposition is being treated in India today @IPUparliament .
Will the Judiciary finally intervene to uphold the rule of law, protect constitutional rights and ensure that the authority of the Constitution is not reduced to a mere formality ?
The vandalism carried out by @BJP4Bengal today at @AITCofficial office was a well-planned attack.
They knew Shri @abhishekaitc was out of town and had left for New Delhi last night. And so, at around 4:30 AM, an armed mob stormed the Camac Street office, ransacked the entire premises, assaulted office staff and took away air purifiers, printers & TVs.
If @KolkataPolice cannot - or will not - respond to such an incident, what exactly is left of law & order?
#WATCH | Kolkata, West Bengal: Upashna Chaudhary, TMC IT Cell in-charge says, "Some goons associated with the BJP arrived at the Camac Street office at 3:30 AM. They didn't just vandalize the place; they attacked the security guards, beat them up, and then forced their way into the office. They wreaked havoc inside. You’ve seen the visuals Abhishek Banerjee posted on Facebook—the situation inside the Camac Street office is far from good. When we received this information this morning and arrived here, we found the police present. We—two office bearers—approached the police and requested entry, explaining that our colleagues were inside and we needed to reach them. However, the police personnel stated that no one was allowed to enter. Despite our repeated requests, they refused to let us in. I want to ask the police one thing: when all this was happening at 3:30 AM, we tried repeatedly to contact them, yet there was no response. How far is the nearest police station from here? How long does it take to get from there to Camac Street? I want to ask this because it appeared that while the incident was unfolding—perhaps under orders from a senior officer—the police were instructed to stay away while the BJP goons were inside..."
She adds, "We will identify the specific BJP members involved; we will circle their faces in the videos and submit the details. However, we remain optimistic that the police will set aside orders from their superiors and take appropriate action. It will certainly happen. It won't stop at just filing an FIR; we will also exercise all the rights granted to us by our democracy."
This is what the BJP has done to my party office in the early hours of this morning.
Will the Governor of WB act? Will the Union Home Minister act? Will the PMO act? Or will they continue to look the other way?
It is high time the judiciary, particularly the Calcutta High Court, takes serious note of what is happening and acts to uphold the rule of law in West Bengal.
And one simple question for Suvendu Adhikari: why are you so scared of the Trinamool Congress and of me that you have to resort to this kind of intimidation?
If this is how the Opposition is to be treated in West Bengal, through violence, vandalism and intimidation, then the Chief Minister have no moral authority to remain in office. He must resign.
This is not democracy. This is political thuggery.
Shame on those responsible. And shame on those who choose to remain silent.
Every act like this will be remembered. Every attack, every act of intimidation, every abuse of power. Nothing will be forgotten.
Women are the strength of India - its foundation, its present, and its future.
