The selective outrage is amusing.
During the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Returning Officer in Birbhum rejected the nomination of BJPтАЩs candidate, a former IPS officer, over a No Dues Certificate that had to be issued by Mamata BanerjeeтАЩs government. He approached the Supreme Court. The petition was dismissed. BJP had to field a replacement candidate at the last minute.
In Basirhat, however, the Returning Officer accepted the nomination of the TMC candidate even though most fields in his form were marked тАЬNAтАЭ and he too had not submitted a No Dues Certificate despite being a former MP. His nomination sailed through.
BJP challenged the matter through an election petition in the High Court. The case is now before the Supreme Court.
Curiously, the same voices now lamenting the lack of an immediate remedy were nowhere to be seen then. No accusations of Mamata Banerjee influencing district administrations. No claims of the ECI acting in concert with the ruling party.
The legal position was the same then as it is now.
Of course, it helps explain the sudden concern when the complainantтАЩs wife is a TMC MP and he himself appears to be aspiring for a Rajya Sabha berth.
If a senior lawyer-MP is so тАЬashamedтАЭ of living in India today, he should register that shame properly.
Resign from the Rajya Sabha.
Because shame cannot be selective.
Where was this 'national shame' in 2021, when Bengal saw brutal post-poll violence, when people were chased, killed, assaulted, displaced, and women were raped?
Where was this 'shame' when a BJP supporter was chased and killed in front of his own mother?
Where was the 'shame' when the Sandeskhali rape case happened?
Where was the 'shame' when the RG Kar rape case happened?
Where was this 'shame' when you appeared in Calcutta High Court to oppose these victims and resisted CBI transfer of the case?
Where was this constitutional anguish when the Calcutta High Court had to order a CBI probe into murder, rape and crimes against women because victims were crying for justice?
But of course an egg attack on a TMC leader suddenly shakes the soul of democracy.
But the blood, tears and terror of ordinary Bengal victims from 2021 did not produce the same moral thunder.
If you are ashamed of India, resign from the parliament.
If not, spare us the theatre.
Why @MIB_India is still tolerating this useless person @Profdilipmandal?
His contribution is zero, all he draws to govt is just hate. Kick him out, what are you waiting for?
Even after losing elections TMC goons have killed three BJP supporters. One among them is brother of a newly elected MLA. And another is PA of Suvendu Adhikari, likely CM of West Bengal. New BJP Govt has to forget all niceties and go after the rascals with brutal force.
BJPтАЩs white-collar, reconciliatory approach in West Bengal is fine only as long as it DOESNтАЩT MEAN IT.
You are up an against a criminal syndicate, not a political party.
Olive branches donтАЩt work.
Smile, sound statesmanlike, but plan meticulously for spring cleaning.
тАЬI challenge the entire union of IndiaтАЭ.
The Union of India should show him what itтАЩs capable of
Enough silence. Enough patience. Enough tolerance. Abhishek Banerjee, Mamata and their dogs need to be shown their rightful place. By union of India. With use of excessive force
The Union has been lenient, far too lenient. It has watched, reasoned, and waited, while those who challenge it from within grow bolder with each passing day.
A Union that forgets its power invites chaos. A throne that tolerates defiance for too long ceases to be a throne. The Union must awaken and remind all who dwell within that unity is not a request, it is a command. Let it be known: restraint is not infinite.
Enough of patience. Enough of silence.
The Union must send its regards.
I donтАЩt need lessons on democracy, public discourse or decency from anyone, especially from @DrAMSinghvi . Decency and him can never be in the same room.
The real issue here pertains to a woman - who has nothing to do with politics - but has her character assassinated on national television using FORGED documents from other countries.
I am confident the courts will take note of this, sooner or later and the guilty will be punished for his brazen act of maligning a woman's character using false documents to influence electoral outcomes.
Also Dr Singhvi, itтАЩs easy to speak on a platform where I am not present to respond. That is not called a debate- it is simply avoiding a fair exchange, one which you were espousing.
And let me be clear, this is just the beginning, not the end.
Satyamev Jayate.
Tarun was a Dalit, and yet, the entire liberal ecosystem is busy whitewashing his brutal lynching and protecting the Muslim perpetrators. In MaslowтАЩs victimhood hierarchy, Dalits are victims only when they can be used to divide Hindus. When theyтАЩre victimised by Muslims, which is almost always the case, theyтАЩre only тАЬHindusтАЭ and their entire intersectionality victimhood goes for a toss. Per the liberal standard, a Hindu is a victim only when they can be used against the larger Hindu community.
