Spotted: More zig-zag pavement markings are appearing at streetcar stops across Toronto
Last year, the City launched a Vision Zero pilot adding these markings at select streetcar stops to help people better identify streetcar stops. More stops have been added for continued piloting.
Streetcar stops have seen 114 reported collisions in the past 10 years, not including near-misses.
Nicknamed "raccoon’s teeth" 🦝 for their distinctive zig-zag pattern, the markings help make streetcar stops more visible and remind people driving and cycling to stop and let streetcar passengers cross safely.
