The boy who survived the rocket attack on Vinnytsia returned to Ukraine after a year of treatment in Germany. His recovery will continue where he fought for his life in the first weeks after the injury - in Lviv - at the UNBROKEN KIDS Children's Rehabilitation Center.

Romchyk Oleksiv is already 8 years old. 45% of the body surface is burned. On the back - the heaviest fourth degree. In Ukraine, such patients die. The then 7-year-old boy received these extensive and deep injuries on July 14, 2022 in Vinnytsia - during a massive rocket attack on the city. Romchyk's mother, who brought her son to the doctor's appointment, died, as did the doctor himself and 125 other people. And the boy's father spent the next few days torn between the funeral of his wife and the rescue of his son.
The Dresden University Clinic in Germany agrees to accept the child. Romchyk was evacuated abroad by a team of German paramedics. And the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières facilitate transportation.

On July 14, 2022, russians killed 27 people, including 3 children, in Vinnytsia.
202 people were injured.
