Update #1 – Huge success so far

The first assignment was based on a primary source with guiding questions. Among 40 journal entries, only two raised mild suspicions of AI use; even in those cases, students wrote by hand, incorporating what they may have generated with AI, which I still see as a positive outcome.

The vast majority of submissions reflected authentic student writing. We also discussed the reading in class, reinforcing comprehension and shared analysis.

Several students asked if they could decorate their journal cover pages, so we’ll be holding a best cover art contest at the end of the semester 🙂
