30 years ago today, with a heavy heart, I pulled on a United shirt. Dad had died that morning & to distract me, my brother & mates were taking me out to watch United.
We thrashed city 5 nil.
They knew from whom I had inherited my love for the club.

Today, I’ve pulled that same shirt on again, but happily so, with my kids in theirs.

United is not a pastime.
Like me and for many I’m sure, it’s an heirloom.
