I want to give everyone a clear update on KYC, Migration Batch 1, and what we’re preparing for Migration Batch 2.

The entire KYC team I lead will meet this week to review and finalize the new KYC system, which is planned to start next week. One of the main goals of this restructuring is to increase KYC throughput and move qualified users through the process faster. For users who have not completed all three KYC steps, the new system will use a fresh set of account and activity data, including mining activity, referral activity, HCS, ACS, sync activity, and other relevant information. The principle is simple: users who are genuinely active and consistently contributing to the network should carry more weight in the evaluation. This allows the system to focus more efficiently on users who are actively participating, while keeping the evaluation process accurate and fair.

For Linkers who have already completed Migration Batch 1, their activity and token behavior after Batch 1 will also be considered as we prepare for Migration Batch 2. Those who chose to lock and vest their ITL will be prioritized first, as this shows a longer-term commitment to the network. For those who received 100% of their ITL from Migration Batch 1 with no lock or vest, the system will instead look at how much of that ITL they continue to hold. The more ITL they keep over time, rather than sell or transfer it away, the stronger their position will be when we assess priority for Migration Batch 2.

I believe this will create a faster and fairer process for users still waiting to complete KYC, while also giving Linkers who have completed Migration Batch 1 a clearer understanding of how their actions may affect their priority for Batch 2.

I’ll share more details as the new system goes live.

Pi Network signs on with Open Standard

Pi Network (@PiCoreTeam) has partnered with Open Standard (@openstandard), the company behind the Open USD (OUSD) stablecoin. Pi says it will explore rewards programs for its users, known as Pioneers, and wider use of OUSD across its ecosystem.

OUSD went live today on Base, Ethereum, Solana and Tempo. It's issued by Stripe-owned Bridge, with reserves held at BlackRock, Lead Bank, and BNY. Open Standard now counts over 200 partners, who earn rewards based on the OUSD activity they bring in.
