Michael Jordan gets completely honest with Stephen Curry about why he's so obsessed with golf.
"I kind of got into golf uh mainly because from a competitive standpoint to me it is the hardest game to play absolutely."
"I can always respond to an opponent a defensive guy offensive guy whatever but in golf it's like playing in a mirror and you battling yourself consistently to try to get Perfection."
"For a competitive person like me this is what keeps me sane you know because when I walk away from the game of basketball... that was enough to keep my competitive juices working."
Dog I was 8 years old when lebron was drafted.
11 YEARS OLD when I saw Lebron score 25 straight against the pistons.
I was 16 when I saw the game 6 ECF vs. the Celtics.
I was 20 when I saw game 7 of the 2016 finals.
I AM 30 YEARS OLD AND LEBRON JAMES IS STILL DOING IT
I am not a Mormon. I am officially declaring myself a BYU fan. Tell me things I need to do to become a full fan. I have seen too much this season not to become one. I have been a free agent for a while.
I mean... the LDS Church must be doing something right! It's hard to see how "demonic" a religion can be that puts an entire state:
- #1 in two-parent households
- #1 in weekly church attendance
- #50 in births to unwed mothers
- #50 for families on income support
ACT OF MERCY: Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have collectively raised more than $140,000 for the family of Thomas Jacob Sanford.
Sanford killed four people in an attack on a church in Michigan.
Jesus died at 33. The human spine has 33 vertebrae. The same structure that holds us up is the same number of years He held this Earth.
We have 12 ribs on each side. 12 disciples. 12 tribes of Israel. God built His design into our bones. He wrote Heaven into our anatomy.
The vagus nerve runs from your brain to your heart and gut. It calms storms inside the body. It looks just like a cross. That’s the power source running through us. Every time your body heals, every time your heart slows in prayer, every time peace shows up when it shouldn’t…that’s Him.
Jesus rose on the third day. Science tells us that when you fast for 3 days, your body starts regenerating. Old cells die. New ones are born. Healing begins. Your body literally resurrects itself. That’s not coincidence. That’s design.
And it keeps going.
Your heart has an electrical rhythm. Your brain lights up when you pray. Tears contain different chemicals depending on if you're crying from joy or grief. The blood speaks. The bones store memory. The body worships whether you realize it or not.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made. We are walking prophecy. Walking tabernacles. Dust and divinity in one.
God didn’t just create you. He carved Himself into you.
You don’t need to look far to find Him. You just need to look inward. He’s been in the design since the beginning.
Everyone always talks about the cheap concessions or the limited commercials, but Augusta's no-phone policy is by far the best rule in sports.
No phones, just living in the moment.
Q-school is made for stories like Jin Chung. (stick w me on a long one).
Its rare for me to see a name on a Q-school leaderboard I don't recognize. But I had never seen the name Jin Chung. A few phone calls led to his phone number and I just hung up the phone with him.
Jin and his family moved from Korea when Jin was a freshman in High School. His parents gave up a business in Korea to move here for Jin's golf.
After 2 years at a junior college, Jin turned pro. That was 15 years ago. This is Jin's 12th try at Q-school, in his previous 11, he has been to second stage just once. One time.
Now the 36-year-old gives lessons in Georgia, has for years, is married, but still never gave up on his dreams. This year he wasn't able to afford Q-school but someone from his church agreed to pay at the last minute. He opened with a 75 at 1st stage but got thru.
At 2nd stage he again opened with a poor round but got thru on the number. Jin said when he got thru he called his wife and they cried.
He then called his parents. His dad is 70 and still works, now at a delivery service. His mom 66 works at an adult day care. They have to work to make ends meet and to help their son chase his dream. Jin told me "they yelled so much when I told them, and they cried."
Jin Chung is T5 right now, 36 holes away from a PGA Tour card. We talked for 15 minutes just now, he spoke about his religion, and how much he appreciates being in this position. How grateful he was for his wife and parents who have never given up on him.
Q-school is made for stories like Jin Chung. 10 times he's failed to get thru 1st stage in 12 tries. And finally he broke thru.
I love this so much.
