The 2000-2001 Portuguese Census results are reported.
Of note: 97.9% of the Portuguese population has access to running water (as opposed to just 18% in 1950); 99.5% of the Portuguese population has access to electricity (as opposed to just 23.6% in 1950); and 98.3% of the Portuguese population has a toilet in their home (as opposed to just 16.9% in 1950).
The Portuguese nation has leapt into the Western world in just two generations.
