India's leading, fully integrated producer of value added ferro chrome providing livelihood to more than 6500 families; celebrating 60+ years of contribution.
World Environment Day was celebrated across our locations with a shared commitment to give back to the planet we share.
As part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, a mass plantation drive was organised. Fruit saplings were also distributed among community members, encouraging greener homes and better nutrition.
At IMFA, we believe that each sapling planted today is a step towards a more sustainable tomorrow.

South Africa’s differentiated electricity tariff could revive domestic ferro chrome production which has fallen off sharply; but, it is likely to be broadly neutral in terms of chrome units as ore being exported for value addition elsewhere is expected to come down. The more significant test is the long term viability of lower rates.
Ultimately, enduring competitiveness is shaped not through policy interventions but by strong fundamentals and efficient operations.
At @IMFALtd, we are sanguine about the outlook for ferro chrome given India’s economic growth and increasing per capital stainless steel consumption.

Strengthening communities, one step at a time.
IMFA, along with its CSR arm, @BIPF_Odisha, rolled out 33 development projects across Choudwar and its surrounding villages in the presence of Chief Guest Shri Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde, Collector & District Magistrate, Cuttack.
The initiatives span essential community infrastructure, from a passenger rest shed at Birat Bazar and a dedicated toilet block for senior citizens at the NECTAR Geriatric Centre, to community centres, libraries, kitchen sheds, drinking water facilities, playgrounds and cycle stands.
Each project reflects a shared vision: creating spaces and opportunities that support everyday lives and promote long-term community well-being.

FY26 marked another year of strong performance, underpinned by operational strength and disciplined execution.
There was steady progress across strategic expansion projects, with KNR 1 in the final stage of execution and KNR 2 now operational, further strengthening our ferro chrome leadership.
Renewable energy and ethanol initiatives continue to support long-term sustainable growth, with renewables expected to account for nearly 40% of our energy mix going forward.
As we build on our integrated model and focus on strategic expansion, we remain committed to delivering long-term value for our stakeholders.

Strengthening our commitment to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
IMFA has executed a Power Purchase Agreement under the captive mechanism with Enfinity Global for the procurement of 65 MW contracted capacity of hybrid renewable energy.
The project comprises 81.40 MW of solar capacity, 102.60 MW of wind capacity, and a 25 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). It is being developed in Rajasthan, with power supply through the Inter-State Transmission System, and is scheduled for commencement in June 2027.
With this, IMFA’s contracted renewable energy supply portfolio stands at 135 MW.
This marks a significant step in the company’s ongoing transition towards sustainable and cost-efficient energy sourcing.

In Kalinganagar today, I met Sunanda Behera and Jyotirmayee Sahoo, Graduate Engineer Trainees (Metallurgy) based in Choudwar, who were on a familiarisation visit to the project site. They are presently designated Shift Incharge and getting hands-on experience running a furnace. I was delighted to interact with them, and was impressed by their innate confidence and self-assurance; look forward to meeting them again on the furnace floor calling the shots!
At @IMFALtd, we are making a determined push to increase gender diversity in the workforce and these two trail blazers are setting a great example.
I reviewed the progress of the Greenfield Expansion Project (KNR 1) today which is broadly on track despite a temporary reduction in manpower at site for ~3 weeks and intense midday temperatures. Cold trials / pre-commissioning activities will commence from May 30th in phases.
Appreciate the effort of the Project team led by Sureshbabu Chigurupalli and PVKishore Kumar in the final push towards light up. Also, advised them to ensure proper hydration, ORS, etc for the workforce at site.
The imminent commissioning of KNR 1 facility will take @IMFALtd’s total ferro chrome smelting capacity to more than 0.5 million tonnes per annum which is a milestone.
Remembering Dr Bansidhar Panda on his 8th death anniversary with deep respect and gratitude. Floral tributes were offered across all our locations in honour of the leader whose vision shaped IMFA’s journey.
A pioneer of Odisha’s industrial growth, he laid more than just the foundation of an enterprise; he built a legacy of purpose, resilience, and progress.

As we enter the next phase of growth, our focus is on building scale and maximising operational efficiency.
Through capacity expansion at Kalinganagar, enhanced chrome ore production from captive mines, and increasing integration of renewable energy, we are strengthening our position as India’s largest ferro chrome producer.
As we expand, we remain committed to maintaining quality, reliability, and consistency that has set us apart.

At IMFA, women from local communities are steadily stepping into roles traditionally seen as unconventional, including operating heavy mining equipment. Through focused training, hands-on learning, and a strong emphasis on safety, they are gaining the confidence and technical expertise needed to participate meaningfully in the workforce.
Designed by the Skill Council for Mining Sector, this initiative is not just about developing their skills, but about enabling greater inclusion and expanding opportunities for women in the mining sector.

Digital transformation delivers real value when technology adoption is aligned with business strategy and operational needs.
Our CFO, Mr Saunak Gupta, shared his insights as a panellist at the conference organised by @UTKALCHAMBER on ‘Ease of Doing Business and Unlocking Value by Leveraging AI and Digital Tools’.
He highlighted that the success of scaling AI-driven pilot projects into enterprise-wide capabilities in the plants depends on strong digital strategy alignment, financial evaluation, governance mechanisms, and effective change management at the grassroots level.

Shaifalika and I sat down recently with Naghma Mulla for the “Give it a Go” podcast and spoke on a wide range of issues ranging from legacy to philanthropy to engaging with local communities.
My parents, after whom the Bansidhar & Ila Panda Foundation is named, prioritised giving back to society at a time when the concept of corporate social responsibility was not in vogue. Today, IMFA continues to follow the core principle of looking beyond business and making a difference to people’s lives.

We are proud to share a key milestone — 29 candidates, including 7 women from the local community, have successfully completed their training as Dumper/Tipper Operators at IMFA’s Training Centre.
Focused on safety, hands-on learning, and industry-ready skills, the programme has equipped participants with the confidence and expertise to advance in their careers, and contribute meaningfully to the mining workforce. All candidates have earned NSQF Level 4 certification from SCMS and NCVET.
Mr @sandeepnarade, VP & Head, Mining BU, presented the certificates to the candidates at a special ceremony.
