Saw this on the news today. Speechless. Wonder why they are still pushing this sort of stuff after so many years.
@thebencheah Singapore is resource-poor, so we import everything wholesale. From water to fuel, from food to people, and so on. And soon, if not already, others' beef with each other.
But what does a plebeian like myself know, what is in the grand scheme of things of our esteemed overlords?
@thebencheah They are diluting what made Singapore what it is, while pretending there is no issue. But this debasement will come back to bite them in due time, just like how countries that debased their currencies ended up. Just hope I will no longer be around to see this when it happens.
@thebencheah Had to deal with an ex-colleague who was something like that. Lucky she is gone, but was an absolute pain to work with, as she was an absolute hypocrite as well. Incompetent even, leaving others to clear her mess. And the office is not a place to preach one's politics and such.
@thebencheah This is one area that I really hope the ones up there do not slip up on. Singapore imports everything, the last thing we should ever import are overseas issues that ends up becoming domestic issues over time. But I seriously am not too confident with the trajectory I am seeing...
@thebencheah Laughable. Just see what happened to Creative years back. It is still the same country as it were decades ago. Alongside all those dreams of being a god-knows-what hub that fell flat over and over. Even more recent plans like 30-by-30 also. Where dreams will always remain dreams.
@thebencheah Indeed.
Wondering how many millions, if not billions, got poured into the emarenay pseudoscience hype. Just because it looked shiny and sounds technical-ish and futuristic does not make it "science".
I can only hope, that the amount fleeced from taxpayers by this scam is limited.
@Travelling_Sign Can only think of the phrase, ้ชๅ ตๅฟ ่ดฅ.
If one deliberately blinds themselves due to dogma, they will only have themselves to blame when a bolt out of the blue were to strike them.
No one can guarantee this sort of bolt out of the blue situation will never happen upon themselves.
@thebencheah Rarely do we hear people suddenly dropping dead before even hitting 50 for no rhyme or reason in bygone days. But cannot say the same for these days.
Only that there is radio silence on this trend except for anyone who bothers to scrutinise what is going on.
@thebencheah Scrutinizing the "science" behind the garbage that was dispensed, it is obvious that it is never going to work as advertised.
Know of a case who passed away suddenly a couple of months ago, who had encouraged everyone around to take that dreck. Cannot help but feel it is related.
@Travelling_Sign Probably the same people who will eat buckets of raw sewage if this was promoted to them as being "healthy" and/or "good for the environment" and such.
If they do such mindless things without thinking, they are no longer people, but have become robots in human form.
@Travelling_Sign I hope so too.
So many ads warning about online scams, yet, nothing about the biggest one that is the emarenay scam, which they so earnestly pushed during those few years. Crazy expensive, does not work as claimed, and causes all sorts of other problems instead.
@Travelling_Sign Not even talking about thriving, but even merely surviving.
Deep down I wish that these fears are overblown, but some of the things I am seeing these days makes me doubtful that these fears are ungrounded. Which is a very worrying feeling.
@Travelling_Sign Not confident about the future, seeing the proportion of people here suckered into taking the emarenay sewage.
Any country would be struggling if even a small percentage of their populace was debilitated. Now imagine one with over 90 percent debilitated, how will it ever survive?
@Travelling_Sign Indeed.
But in syllabus, this is taught the other way round, that failure to conform to it is verboten. No surprises there though, if anything, as from it they can guarantee a future market for their brainwashing.
@Travelling_Sign And now, records of their insanity over those crazy years are being memory-holed slowly but surely.
Recently on this health app here, they just wiped off that part of the app that showed the tracking of such stuff some time near the end of June.
@Travelling_Sign Many times these start off as a system serving people, but end up with people serving the system. The question is what went wrong in the process, and how did this mistake always end up getting repeated over and over.
@Travelling_Sign At this point, I think that AI might have indeed exceeded the intellectual capabilities of some humans (or at least that group).
If one gives up their autonomy of thought just in order to "fit in", how are they different from the simple lines of code of some pre-programned robot?
@Travelling_Sign So too the saying goes, that the road to perdition is paved with good intentions, with their hubris and tunnel vision while wearing rose-tinted glasses leading the drive off the proverbial cliff.
