A proud moment for Tanjore as District Collector Ms. B. Priyanga Pankajam, I.A.S., receives national recognition for her outstanding leadership and innovation!

Under her guidance, Tanjore District developed a bilingual, voice-search-enabled mobile app that streamlined the 2002 electoral linkage process under DSIR 2026, earning the district the prestigious Best Election District 2025 award.

The Hon. President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, presented the award on National Voters’ Day—a testament to Collector Pankajam’s visionary administration and the district team’s dedication.

Have you ever second-guessed your dream and asked yourself, “Am I really built for this?”

Building a mission-driven team in Tanjore came with its share of uncertainty. I didn’t have it all figured out and felt lost more often than I’d like to admit.

Instead of resisting those moments, I chose to sit with them to learn, reset and realign. It wasn’t easy. Some days were downright uncomfortable.

Yet, I decided to keep going with a positive notion that everything happens for a reason. Slowly, things unfolded as they were meant to, connecting all the odd dots.

When the noise faded, purpose became clearer. I thought I was hitting roadblocks, but was actually looking at signposts. The universe has a way of pushing you toward the path you envisioned by stripping away the distractions that don't belong.

So, if you’re in a tough season, don’t lose heart. Keep moving with a positive belief. Sometimes, the hardest moments lead to the most meaningful breakthroughs.

In my years of observing how wealth grows over time, one quote kept coming back to me.

“Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it; he who doesn’t, pays it.” – Albert Einstein

This reminded me of a truth — discipline compounds into wealth.
There is a subtle yet extraordinary power in repetition at a certain frequency. The small, consistent steps you take today build momentum in the background, growing stronger with each passing year.

Consider this:
Investing $500 a month at an average return of 10% annually grows to over $1.6 million in 35 years.
But waiting just 10 years to start? You’d end up with less amount, even if you invest double the monthly sum.

Or take a classic example:
If you were offered $3 million today or a penny that doubles every day for 31 days, most people would grab the $3 million. A penny that doubles every day seems silly until you see it turn into $10 million on 31st day. Even if you stop investing thereafter, your returns continue to earn returns.

That’s the magic of compounding. Whether you earn from a business, a salaried job or other sources, aim to save at least 10% of your monthly income. There is a unique pride in seeing someone from your hometown build something that changes the world and that’s exactly how I feel about @Zoho.

Over the past decade, HBS has used a suite of ZOHO tools. We watched them grow by solving real problems, prioritizing users, and staying profitable. In many ways, their story mirrors a belief I hold: world-class innovation does not require a metropolitan zip code.

From the cultural heart of Tanjore to taking shape in Tenkasi and now resonating across 180+ countries, ZOHO has defied conventional thinking about corporate growth. Their products are thoughtful, simple, secure, and delightfully usable at fair prices. I’ve heard people from the UK, USA and Australia talk about ZOHO and their products with genuine respect and every time, it fills me with pride and admiration.

ZOHO’s @UlaaBrowser won the Indian Web Browser Development Challenge (IWBDC) in a national competition. Their messaging app @Arattai saw a 100× jump in daily signups, from ~3,000 to ~350,000 in just three days. Arattai also quickly climbed to the top of the social apps chart in India. Also, ZOHO is now angling to challenge even established productivity suites by combining AI with deep integration of apps.

But perhaps what impresses me most is how @svembu vision goes beyond product. Through ZOHO Schools, he is offering rural youth a hands-on, professional alternative to conventional college pathways. His focus is not on credentialism but on tangible skills, and this democratizes opportunity for youth in Tier II/III cities.

Happy to see how far he has come and wishing him continued success in all that he undertakes next.
