AI can give us the language of care, but Confucius reminds us that education should be a practice of "Ren(仁)": care, humanity, and understanding. Education is not only about helping students learn more. It is about helping them become better human beings.
AI can keep generating words, often verbose and more than we needed, but Laozi reminds us that "the greatest sound is silent". The true wisdom sometimes lies in knowing when to leave things open, and to gives students space to explore, and to experience moments of insight.
There are so many people I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart - my advisors, the nomination team, my mentors, colleagues, collaborators, friends, and the entire Division A community.
