Despite the tough 3-set defeat, I saw a lot of positives in Alex’s game today that surprised me even after having watched her for a while:

1. Lightning speed running across the court

2. More power and speed in her shots

3. Increased anticipation of direction of opponents shots.

I’m sure she did her very best to win.

She always elevates her game when facing a top opponent.

And I’m also sure she will take all the lessons learned from this defeat to come back and be better in the US Open .
