Recognition of work-life balance in banking starts with a 5-day work week for all employees, it's high time to step up! #5DayWeekandFairPLI#AIBOC@PMOIndia
An agreement must be honoured. A reward system must be fair.
#5DayWeekandFairPLI
The 5 Day Work Week for bank employees was agreed in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. Its implementation cannot remain pending indefinitely.
At the same time, a unilateral and discriminatory PLI framework that divides the workforce must give way to a fair, transparent and inclusive system for all employees.
Every achievement of our banks is the outcome of collective effort.
Recognition too must reflect that collective contribution.
We seek no privilege, only implementation of an agreed commitment, equality in reward and dignity at work.
@PMOIndia
Our workforce expects a resolution to leftover issues from the 8 March 2024 Joint Note; let's end this impasse stably. #5DayWeekandFairPLI#AIBOC@PMOIndia https://t.co/mf8hj7FTFr
India’s Bank employees seek two things rooted in fairness and dignity at work.
#5DayWeekandFairPLI
The demand for a 5 Day Work Week in banks is not new. It already stands agreed upon in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. What remains is its long-pending implementation.
At the same time, the unilateral and discriminatory PLI system must be abolished and replaced with a fair, transparent and inclusive framework for all employees, recognising the collective effort behind every institution’s performance.
Hardworking bank employees are not asking for privilege. They are asking for implementation of an agreement and equality in reward.
A motivated banking workforce strengthens Indian banking and the nation.

Addressing the emotional distress among bank employees can ignite focus on productivity - far eclipsed by the ongoing agitations. #5DayWeekandFairPLI#AIBOC@PMOIndia

When the divided interests ravage equity among bank staff, even mutual appeal among canonical lengths of service could tarnish. #5DayWeekandFairPLI#AIBOC@PMOIndia

A 5-day banking week in India would enhance employee well-being and productivity, creating a better work-life balance! #5DaysWeekForBankers#AIBOC https://t.co/XdOAOLwb7s
A better banking experience starts with a sustainable workweek. With acute staff shortages and mounting stress, 5-day banking is about public service and employee well-being, not a privilege.
UFBU has been pressing since 2015; IBA has already recommended it to the Government (MoU 07-12-2023), and the 12th Bipartite/9th Joint Note (08-03-2024) records the Saturday holiday clause, pending approvals/clearances.
Honour what’s on record. Approve all Saturdays off.

Imagine banks operating efficiently with refreshed teams. The 5-day week could revolutionize service standards in India! #Implement5DayBanking https://t.co/GDS7BiBqPb
A rested workforce serves the public better. With staff shortages and rising stress, 5-day banking is a service-quality issue, not a “perk.” UFBU has pursued this since 2015; IBA has recommended it to the Government (MoU 07-12-2023), and it’s included in the 12th Bipartite/9th Joint Note (08-03-2024), pending clearances.
Let’s finish what’s already agreed.

When the entire world is moving towards 4 days a week, only we are deprived of the much needed 5 days banking… RBI, state government, insurance sector is having 5 days a week.. It’s high time that bankers should also be given 5 days a week.
