@JackJBet@PeterLawrence18 Losses for pokies far exceed those for sports betting, with pokies generating 5–10 times more annually. This disparity reflects pokies' high volume of small, frequent bets and their accessibility in ~4,500 venues nationwide, versus sports betting's event-based nature.
@JackJBet@PeterLawrence18 Lol you gotta be fkn joking mate you reckon more horror stories betting on the races than addicts lining up at 6am Saturday morning for the pokies
6 years as a doctor and I have only come across 2 quadriplegics on NDIS.
One of them was a doctor - he had a bike accident - he continues to work still as a doctor & educating medical students.
I have now seen hundreds of NDIS recipients for different variations of "ADHD, Autism, Mental health, Obesity related issues"
Certain suburbs *cough cough Merrylands* - has the Lebanese mums make a career of popping out kids and ensuring they have the right paperwork and diagnoses to maximize the annual packages. These are autism/adhd only on paper - mostly just poorly behaved kids.
They then hire their own family members as care workers. The pay is so good - 60-70$/hour to play video games with your niece/nephew - that even young otherwise productive men/women end up in this hellhole of unproductive labor.
Then you have the adults on it:
The vast majority of adults on it do not want to help themselves. In another era or even other countries: these people would have been forced to work or starve.
It's just the type of person they are. Lazy, gluttonous, parasitic. The taxpayer pays for their weed, vacations and gardeners.
What sort of society feeds the parasitic at the expense of the productive?
We have unfortunately hit a point where no one is openly stating the obvious due to the vocal virtue signaling left wingers.
Our institutions and regulators are built to "protect the public" - Each complaint takes months to resolve.
Thus they can be weaponized by the virtue signallers as well as the pathetic fraudulent recipients quite easily.
The NDIS is a cancer that will destroy the fabric of Australian society.
NSW Racing boss Peter V’Landys just stated in his opening remarks:
"Let me just explain something. The people that fund the industry isn't the punter, it's isn't the government, it's the owner of the racehorse."
We can all debate the chicken or the egg, but these comments explain a lot about the lack of respect for punters and the role they play in sustaining the industry, which is under threat due to its excessive spending on prizemoney.

There’s been a clear increase in turnover of @HRNSW_Harness on @Betfair_Aus since the July 1 reduction of commission and scrapping of turnover charge. Today at Menangle saw a 71% increase to the corresponding meeting 1 month prior.
