My big bro. Incredibly loving. Selfless. Caring. These past few days have been unbearable. I wasn’t ready to let you go. I am finding peace that you are safe in the loving arms of your Savior. Phil, you were loved… https://t.co/nzHtzbD2gm
I’ve not only lost my son recently, but I lead a church trying to understand what they hear from me (their pastor) versus what they are hearing from the pastor and folks at Bethel concerning death, faith, and where our hope lies.
That’s why I wrote this.

If our mission is to share good news, we need to be good news people. If we preach a gospel of transformation, we need to show some evidence of what transformation looks like.

Keith Green once said:
"I repent of ever having recorded one single song, and ever having performed one concert, if my music, and more importantly my life, has not provoked you into Godly jealousy or to sell out more completely to Jesus!"
let’s learn a thing or two from Green.
@ChrisDIrish Oh awesome! I’ve been looking for that for a while now. That has been my trusty travel Bible and I was very sad to have misplaced it. Glad to see it recovered!
Christ is not a bandaid in our lives, we cannot reach into a cabinet for him when we need him to fix all of our problems. He is the center of all of our relationships, to which he is our main source of life, not our main source of aid.
a quote from @matt_coss found in my notes
Do we really have to be reminded that we weren’t created to be famous? Why does our culture strive for popularity and status so much?
The only thing that matters in this life is Christ. Make him the priority not your status.
Glory to God alone. Nothing else.
I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. Perception is not always reality.
Just because you simply feel something does not automatically make it justified. Just because you think something does not in turn make it true.
How I long to grow like the plants of the fields. With every season still more beautiful. How I long to be still—content in my growth. Standing firm where you want me, in my season with hope. Lord make me content, dependent on you; and only on what you continually provide.
The day that the leaders in the church are too intimidated by culture to speak out on the truths of the Bible — is the day that church has lost its authority to change culture.
if your church had to get rid of their production, lighting, big screens, etc. would the people still come?
i can’t get over this reflection with @Jodave_ from weeks ago.
