@NealBloom I love driving down Clairemont Drive to see a view of Mission Bay as I'm on my way to Morena Blvd to enjoy the many great restaurants like Luce or the High Dive.
I post on analytics and BI because I'm passionate about it. Whomever I work with, I want to make sure they are getting the most value from their investment. Posting forces me to research my topics and deeply understand my area of expertise. #analytics#businessintelligence#data
You want fast, responsive BI reports? Your data models and table structures need to be as simple as possible. Focus more on the data model and less on data visualization. #dashboarddesign#powerbi
@ItsElisaDavis Only so much time to commit and staying focused on data modeling/transformation skills this year. Trying to focus on one piece of the analytics lifecycle and this year will be less data viz focus and more data transfer activities.
You know why they're called data ninjas? Because it takes a lifetime to master data skills. It's not "take a boot camp" and voila you're a data master. Could you imagine taking a six-week ninjitsu class and expecting to leave being a ninja master? #data#analytics
@SpotOn_DRTV got a picture of me opening our latest @SDTableau. Big shoutout to @JaymeLubben presening on hexbin maps. I know the audience learned a lot from her presentation. We also did a hands-on exercise so attendees could get some real world experience.
The upcoming San Diego Tableau User Group is less than two weeks away. Sign up if you haven't done so already. I look forward to connecting with other Tableau enthusiasts. #tableau
What's a hexbin map? ๐ค If you're curious about hexbin mapping, then join us at the next San Diego Tableau User Group. We are partnering with the @sdworkforce to host the event in Kearny Mesa at 5:30p. #Tableau

My tagline is Delivering a Great BI Experience. I know it's what I do, but I wanted more concrete evidence on exactly what that means. I finally got around to writing an article about what it means. My key takeaways? Read the article: https://t.co/cbPvVF3OvN #businessintelligence
Let's not overcomplicate this #businessintelligence thing. End users needs are quite simple.
1. Data they can trust (accuracy)
2. Data they can find (navigation)
3. Data they can use (relevancy)
Design for these three criteria.
Data is the food for your #businessintelligence tools. If the data is poor then your BI tools will be too. If you want to shed fat, but eat fatty foods all day then you won't shed unwanted fat. No matter how many hours you're on the elliptical. Get out what you put in.
