I once read an interesting article about an artist a while ago who uses AI today. I'm not naming names, obviously, but their imagery is often dreamy and surreal, and their artwork was an example of work that could spawn a trilogy from just an image.

They are blessed or suffer from something called hyperphantasia... mental imagery so vivid that it's almost like seeing, and for them it was an infinite world of the dreamy and surreal. One interesting thing they said was that their ability to draw and their speed were their limitation in creativity. AI helps, but it wasn't enough, as even AI lacks the depth of creative chaos that was part of their brain.

In the frantic effort to create, their hands would develop repetitive stress injuries, and their physical bodies would be in pain from posture issues. They would also copy-paste elements from AI-generated imagery, like photo bashing, to create a rough template and then paint...

They are completely different from the run-of-the-mill Twitter artists making the same kind of anime image, where they copied the style and an image they often traced from existing works.
