Obviously it’s easier for us to identify with a viable baby than with a zygote. I can’t think of a reason to gauge my emotional attachment to someone when deciding whether it’s wrong to kill them, though.
On the other hand, being able to disregard that emotional driver in order to keep consistency on your side of the debate- while admirable from a logical standpoint, as I said- strikes one as extremely cold-blooded.
@LyssAnthrope At least you’re consistent.
If m not being snarky, I really do respect that, even if I do find the logical end point sort of chillingly ghoulish.
@LyssAnthrope I’m still not ready to accept that.
I am not saying you’re lying. Only that I don’t understand how the baby forms, breaks apart (and is held together by the womb), then knits itself BACK together.
When does the last part happen?
@LyssAnthrope Of course it matters. The latter MAKES the former a crucial distinction.
I’ve said before; the two things work in concert. There’s no “switch” happening here.
@LyssAnthrope “You robbed a 7/11 and now you’re in jail is just a description of two events that happened in sequence.
It isn’t YOUR fault you’re STILL IN jail a month later- it’s the government’s. Therefore our planned jailbreak is totally justified.”
@JonSkorm@TheGershDevice@xavizenberserk@afrotw I’d appreciate being filled in on how that MASSIVE personality change occurred.
And make it something more compelling than “he had a bad dream one night,” please.
@afrotw lol, The only way you guys can defend TLJ is always to go, “actually, Star Wars was ALWAYS DUMB, and you were dumb for liking it before Rian Johnson came along!” 😆
@LyssAnthrope I know. And you’re denying the baby their free will.
Once again- I’m not saying this is a check mate or something. It isn’t. I do see your perspective. But in the end you are simply choosing whose free will and right to life takes priority.
@LyssAnthrope@endabortionmeme But it doesn’t. The Tuskegee thing doesn’t make any such point which would be applicable to this discussion we’re having.
@DarksMusics@Nerdrotics Ew. I’m a huge Supergirl fan and I’d definitely be disinclined to see a Supergirl movies conceived and advertised in the way that first picture was.
@LyssAnthrope No, I understand that, I don’t understand the assumption that this supersedes any choice made by the pregnant person which led to their pregnancy.
